Recently, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued Circular 25/2024/TT-BGDDT regarding statistical reporting policies in the education sector.

According to Circular 25 on statistical reporting policies in the education sector, the Ministry of Education and Training issues 19 templates.

19 statistical report policy templates effective from February 9, 2025 may be found in Circular 25/2024/TT-BGDDT.

The entities to which Circular 25 on statistical reporting policies in the education sector applies include:

- Departments of Education and Training, parent universities, academies, universities, institutions offering undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, pedagogical colleges, colleges training in early childhood education, pre-university schools (hereinafter referred to as agencies and units), and relevant organizations and individuals.

- Higher education institutions under the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security do not apply the contents of this Circular.

What are the regulations on reporting periods and deadlines for submitting statistical reports in the education sector in Vietnam?

In Clause 7, Article 3 of Circular 25/2024/TT-BGDDT, the reporting periods and deadlines for submitting statistical reports in the education sector in Vietnam are as follows:

- The statistical reporting period is a period during which agencies and units must reflect their operational results through data according to statistical criteria in the report templates. The reporting period for the education sector is calculated based on the academic year and is specified under the name of each statistical report template;

- The deadline for receiving reports is specified at the upper left corner of each statistical report template;

- Regular statistical reports are calculated based on the academic year, and the reporting deadlines are:

+ For early childhood education, general education, continuing education, and disability education: there are 2 reporting periods each year:

++ Beginning of the academic year report: The reporting date is September 30, and the deadline for submitting statistical reports is October 30.

​++ End of the academic year report: The reporting date is May 31, and the deadline for submitting statistical reports is June 30.

+ For higher education, training in early childhood education at the college level, and pre-university: there is 1 reporting period per year: The reporting date is December 31, and the deadline for submitting statistical reports is January 31 of the following year.

- Other statistical reports:

Other statistical reports are conducted to help the Minister of Education and Training collect information beyond the regular statistical information gathered and aggregated according to the statistical reporting policies. The content of other statistical reports is performed as per the request of the Ministry of Education and Training.

1. Organizations under the Ministry assisting the Minister in performing state management functions include:

- Early Childhood Education Department.

- Primary Education Department.

- Secondary Education Department.

- Higher Education Department.

- Physical Education Department.

- Ethnic Education Department.

- Continuing Education Department.

- National Defense and Security Education Department.

- Political Education and Student Affairs Department.

- Personnel and Organization Department.

- Planning and Finance Department.

- Facility Department.

- Science, Technology, and Environment Department.

- Legal Department.

- Office.

- Inspectorate.

- Quality Management Department.

- Teachers and Educational Managers Department.

- Information Technology Department.

2. Public service providers serving the state management functions of the Ministry:

- Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences.

- Education and Times Newspaper.

- Education Journal.

The Minister of Education and Training submits to the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam the issuance of the list of other public service providers under the Ministry.

The Minister of Education and Training issues Decisions stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of units under and affiliated with the Ministry following the provisions of law, except for units under the decision-making authority of the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.
