Pursuant to Article 1 of Decision 465/QD-UBND 2024:
Issuance of the timeframe for the 2024-2025 academic year for preschool, general education, and continuing education in Kon Tum province, as follows:
1. School starting date on August 26, 2024. For first-graders, school starts on August 12, 2024 (enhancing Vietnamese language for ethnic minority children before entering grade one). From August 19, 2024, the “Orientation Week” for first-graders in favorable areas will be implemented.
2. The school opening ceremony is on September 5, 2024.
3. The first semester starts on September 6, 2024. The first semester ends before January 18, 2025; the second semester starts on January 20, 2025, completing the program and ending the academic year before May 31, 2025.
4. The total number of actual study weeks: 35 weeks for preschool, general education, and continuing education (18 weeks for the first semester, 17 weeks for the second semester).
5. Assessment for completion of primary education and recognition of junior secondary school graduation before June 30, 2025.
6. Completion of enrollment for the first grades of the 2025-2026 academic year before July 31, 2025.
7. High school graduation exams and national exams as per the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training. Provincial examinations for excellent students in grades 9 and 12 and the provincial science and technology competition as guided by the Department of Education and Training.
8. Regarding summer vacations, holidays, and leaves
a) Summer vacation for preschool, general education, and continuing education teachers is 08 weeks, including annual leave.
b) Lunar New Year vacation begins on January 24, 2025 until February 7, 2025.
c) Besides the prescribed summer vacation, teachers are entitled to holidays and other days off as stipulated in the Labor Code and annual guiding documents (complying with the state’s holiday swap regulations and in accordance with the unit’s activities).
The scheduled Lunar New Year holiday for students in Kon Tum is expected to start from January 24, 2025 to February 7, 2025. (15 days)
However, February 8-9, 2025 falls on the weekend (Saturday, Sunday)
Therefore, if students do not have to study on weekends (Saturday, Sunday), the Lunar New Year holiday for students in Kon Tum in 2025 may extend to 17 days.

Note: The Chairman of the Provincial, City People’s Committee under the Central Government will decide the specific academic schedule for each locality.
