Below are guidelines for self-assessment and grading according to professional standards by teachers at general education institutions in Vietnam:

Standard 1: Teacher's Qualities

Criterion 1: Teacher's Ethics

- Self-assess the level of honesty, integrity, respect for the law, and industry regulations.

- Assess personal commitment to practicing professional ethical standards and appropriate conduct with students and colleagues.

Criterion 2: Teacher's Virtue

- Assess the ability to maintain a serious attitude, confident demeanor, and maturity in work.

- Demonstrate exemplary behavior in all activities and serve as a model for students in living, learning, and working styles.

Standard 2: Development of professional skills

Criterion 3: Development of personal knowledge

- Clearly state the process of updating knowledge, attending professional courses, workshops, and advanced training programs for professional growth.

- Self-assess progress and achievements in the development of personal knowledge.

Criterion 4: Development of the plans for teaching and education towards development of qualities and capacity of students

- Assess the ability to design and construct clear, creative teaching plans suitable to students' needs.

- Ensure that the proposed plan aims to develop students' overall qualities and competences.

Criterion 5: Use of methods of teaching and education towards development of qualities and capacity of students

According to Clause 1, Article 10 of Circular 20/2018/TT-BGDDT, the specific process of assessment according to professional standards for teachers in Vietnam is as follows:

Step 1: The teachers shall carry out self-assessment according to professional standards for teachers

Step 2: The general education institutions shall collect opinions from colleagues of teachers subject to assessment according to the professional standards of teachers in the professional group.

Step 3: The heads of the general education institutions shall access and notify the results of assessment of teachers according to the results of self-assessment, opinions of colleagues and actual performance of duties via authentic and appropriate evidences.
