In the era of rapidly developing technology, cyberspace has become an indispensable part of life, especially for younger generations. However, alongside the immense benefits, cyberspace also poses many challenges regarding civilized and responsible behavior by each individual.

Students can refer to the following sample argumentative essays showing opinions regarding manners in cyberspace:

Sample No. 1:

With the development of information technology, social networks are increasingly influencing our daily lives. Along with the popularity of social networks, manners in cyberspace have also become a phenomenon that many people are interested in.

So what is behavioral culture? What is manners in cyberspace? Behavior refers to the response, treatment, and reaction of humans to the impacts of different things and events. All actions, attitudes, gestures, and communication among people form a behavioral culture. Social networks are an online platform with various functions, enabling people to easily connect anywhere using electronic devices such as smartphones or computers. Manners in cyberspace can be understood as all human actions on social media, from posting information, commenting, or interacting with others.

In response to the wave of 4.0 technology, social networks are increasingly popular. According to surveys, most Vietnamese use at least one social network. Some popular platforms like Facebook, Zalo, Instagram,... have millions of users across different age groups. Social networks act as a virtual world where people can share images, sounds, interact and from these actions arises manners in cyberspace. Besides civilized behavior, there are not few inappropriate actions such as disparagement, swearing, and even fraudulent acts.

The cause of this unfortunate reality is due in part to the poor awareness of some social network users, shallow thinking, impulsive behavior, frequently attacking individuals or organizations online. Furthermore, the oversight by network providers is not stringent enough, and the legal framework for cyberspace is insufficient, leading to unfortunate incidents on social media. One such unfortunate incident can be cited from China, mid-2021, where a young girl committed suicide with pesticides during a live broadcast on social media while sharing about her depression. Notably, the live comments section had many netizens encouraging her suicidal intentions with content like "die," "drink it now"…

To build a more civilized culture of manners in cyberspace, network providers need solutions to filter information on social networks, implement warnings, and prevent uncivilized acts and users. More importantly, each individual must be conscious to behave in a civilized and polite manner in cyberspace, promoting to everyone about the beautiful culture of civilized behavior.

The digital world and cyberspace may be virtual, but their impact is real. Social networks are tools that bring people closer together, offering significant benefits. However, we need to use them correctly and wisely, behave politely and culturally to collectively build a healthier, better online environment.

Sample No. 2:

Today, with the prosperous development of the internet comes the emergence of many different social networks. An ongoing situation is that young people use social networks frequently and widely, leading to many troubling issues regarding the manners in cyberspace of the youth.

Today, social networks are extremely popular, with everyone using them. In Vietnam, many social networks are used by the people, including Facebook, Zalo, Instagram,... with millions of users of different ages. Social networks act as a virtual world where people can interact with each other, leading to many behaviors forming: some being elegant, some polite, and even some rude.

The cause of this situation firstly stems from the inadequate awareness of social network users, with young people wanting to prove themselves to others and attract attention, as being noticed by many can lead to fame. Currently, many “stars” emerge from fame on social media, prompting many young people to follow suit. An objective cause is the influence of the living environment and insufficient education...

The usage of networks leads to unpredictable consequences: many conflicts, arguments, and even violence have occurred due to online disputes on social networks. Additionally, excessive use of social media wastes time and affects other human activities. To overcome this situation, firstly, each person should adjust themselves, try to minimize the use of social media, and focus on other work. Besides, we need to have a civilized and intelligent approach to manners in cyberspace.

Everything has two sides, benefits, and harms, and how we use them reasonably is up to each person. Let us contribute a small effort to build a more civilized, healthy, and beautiful society.
