Summary of the Thánh Gióng

The Thánh Gióng tells the story of a boy named Giong, born during the reign of the sixth Hung King. Giong's mother became pregnant after stepping into a giant footprint. Despite being three years old, Giong could not speak, laugh, or walk.

When the Yin invaders attacked, King Hung sent messengers across the land to find talented individuals to save the country. Upon hearing the messenger, Giong suddenly spoke and asked his mother to invite the messenger in. Giong requested the king to forge him an iron horse, an iron armor, and an iron rod. After receiving these items, Giong quickly grew into a giant warrior.

Giong rode the iron horse, wielded the iron rod, and defeated the Yin invaders. When the iron rod broke, Giong used bamboo along the road as weapons. After defeating the invaders, Giong did not return but ascended to the heavens, becoming Saint Giong. King Hung granted Giong the title of "Phu Dong Thien Vuong" and built a temple to commemorate his merits.

What are regulations on assessment of grade 6 Literature in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Article 5 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT:

Forms of assessment

...

  1. Assessment by scores

a) Teachers use scores to evaluate students' training and learning outcomes.

b) Score-based assessment is used in regular, periodic evaluations through various forms of testing, assessing students' execution of training and learning tasks, appropriate to the characteristics of the subject.

  1. Assessment forms for subjects

a) Qualitative assessment for subjects: Physical Education, Arts, Music, Fine Arts, Local Educational Content, Experiential Activities, and Career Guidance. Learning outcomes for these subjects are assessed as either Achieved or Not Achieved.

b) Qualitative assessment combined with score-based assessment for subjects in the General Education Program, except for the subjects specified in point a of this clause. Learning outcomes for subjects are assessed on a 10-point scale. If a different scale is used, it must be converted to the 10-point scale. The score is an integer or a decimal rounded to one decimal place.

Therefore, except for subjects like Physical Education, Arts, Music, Fine Arts, Local Educational Content, Experiential Activities, and Career Guidance, which are assessed qualitatively, other subjects are assessed using a combination of qualitative and score-based assessments.

Thus, grade 6 Literature will be assessed using a combination of qualitative assessment and score-based assessment.

What are regulations on evaluation of learning outcomes of grade 6 students for each semester and the entire school year in Vietnam?

Student outcomes for each semester and the school year are assessed as one of four levels: Good, Fair, Achieved, Not Achieved.

Good Level:

- All subjects assessed qualitatively are rated Achieved.

- All subjects assessed qualitatively combined with scores have DTBmhk and DTBmcn of 6.5 points or higher, with at least 06 subjects having DTBmhk and DTBmcn of 8.0 points or higher.

Fair Level:

- All subjects assessed qualitatively are rated Achieved.

- All subjects assessed qualitatively combined with scores have DTBmhk and DTBmcn of 5.0 points or higher, with at least 06 subjects having DTBmhk and DTBmcn of 6.5 points or higher.

Achieved Level:
