What is the code of conduct for 2nd-grade students in Vietnam towards their friends?

Under Article 8 of Circular 06/2019/TT-BGDDT, the code of conduct for learners in general education institutions and continuing education institutions is regulated as follows:

Code of conduct for learners in general education institutions and continuing education institutions

1. Behavior with administrative officers, teachers and staff: Show respect, politeness, honesty, sharing, and observe the requirements as prescribed. Do no fabricate information; do not offend spirit, honor, dignity, or inflict violence.

2. Behavior with other learners: Use language which is proper, friendly, honest, cooperative, helpful and respect differences. Do not use bad language, swear, insult, cause disunity; do not fabricate; do not spread information to slander, affect honor and dignity of other learners.

3. Behavior with parents and relatives: Show respect, politeness, honesty, and love.

4. Behavior with visitors to educational institutions: Show respect, politeness

Thus, 2nd-grade students in Vietnam must use language that is proper, friendly, honest, cooperative, helpful, and respects differences; not use bad language, swear, insult, cause disunity; do not fabricate; do not spread information to slander, affect honor and dignity of other learners.

What are the objectives of teaching the 2nd-grade Vietnamese language curriculum?

According to sub-section 2 of Section 3 of the General Education Program for Literature issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the objectives of teaching the 2nd-grade Vietnamese language curriculum are as follows:

- Help students form and develop essential qualities with specific expressions: love nature, family, and homeland; have an awareness of origins; appreciate beauty, and goodness, and maintain healthy emotions; be interested in studying, enjoy working; be honest and straightforward in learning and life; have a sense of responsibility towards oneself, family, society, and the surrounding environment.

- Help students initially form general abilities, develop language skills in all basic skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening at a basic level: read texts correctly and fluently; understand the main content and information of texts; make outside-the-text connections and comparisons; write with accurate spelling and grammar; write some sentences, paragraphs, short essays (mainly storytelling and descriptive essays); speak clearly; understand the speaker’s opinions.

Develop literary competence with the requirement to differentiate between poetry and stories, know how to read poetry and stories; recognize the beauty of artistic language; have imagination, and understand and feel moved by the beauty and goodness of people and the surrounding world expressed in literary texts.
