So, the back-to-school schedule for Nam Dinh in 2024 is August 29, 2024 (except for Grade 1);
As for the back-to-school schedule for Grade 1 in Nam Dinh, it will be from August 22, 2024.
Additionally, the number of actual weeks of study and other activities are as follows:
For preschool education, general education, continuing education programs at the middle school and high school levels: there are 35 weeks of actual study (18 weeks in the first semester, 17 weeks in the second semester), with the remaining time reserved for other activities.

Based on Clause 3, Article 1 of Decision 1708/QD-UBND in 2024, the timetable for exams according to the Nam Dinh 2024-2025 academic year timeline is as follows:
- The selection exam for the team to compete in the national excellent student exam: to be completed before September 30, 2024.
- The provincial-level excellent student exam: to be completed before March 29, 2025.
- The entrance exam for Grade 10 of high school for the 2025 - 2026 school year: to be completed before July 31, 2025.
- The high school graduation exam: expected to be held on June 26 and June 27, 2025 (according to the Ministry of Education and Training's plan).
- Other national-level exams will be organized according to the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.
What school fees do parents need to know for the 2024 2025 school year in Vietnam?
The school fees for the 2024 2025 school year include the following:
(1) Tuition fees: In accordance with the regulations stated in Decree 81/2021/ND-CP of the Government of Vietnam.
According to Clause 2, Article 3 of Decree 81/2021/ND-CP, tuition fees are the amount of money that students must pay to cover part or all of the educational and training service costs.
The provincial People's Committee submits to the Provincial People's Council to decide the specific tuition fee rates but not exceeding the maximum limit stipulated.
The Provincial People's Council will specify annual tuition fees considering local realities following Article 9 of Decree 81/2021/ND-CP.
(2) Health Insurance:
According to Article 7 of Decree 146/2018/ND-CP, the health insurance contribution for students is 4.5% of the statutory pay rate multiplied by the number of months corresponding to the term of the health insurance card (the current statutory pay rate is VND 2,340,000).
According to Article 8 of Decree 146/2018/ND-CP, students are eligible for a minimum 30% support for the health insurance contribution.
The annual health insurance fee = 4.5% x VND 2,340,000 x 12 months x max 70%
Thus, the maximum annual health insurance fee for students of all grades is VND 884,520.
(3) Uniforms, Sportswear, Badges:
In accordance with Article 9 of Circular 26/2009/TT-BGDDT, the cost for tailoring, purchasing, renting, or borrowing uniforms and ceremonial attire comes from the school's regular budget, student contributions, or other legal sources and must be publicly disclosed.
The expense for uniforms, sportswear, and badges is part of the fees that schools can collect at the beginning of the school year. The specific fee will depend on each school's regulations.
(4) Other Fees
As for the fees agreed upon between the school and parents or as stated in the Provincial People's Council's resolutions, they may include:
- Meals, boarding care, boarding service equipment;
- Two sessions per day;
- Class funds;
- Learning materials for preschool children;
- Student drinking water;
- Extra classes and tutoring within the school.
(5) Sponsorship (VOLUNTARY)
According to Articles 2 and 3 of Circular 16/2018/TT-BGDDT, educational institutions may seek and receive sponsorships for the following purposes:
- Providing equipment and supplies for teaching and learning; equipment for scientific research; renovation, repair, and construction of facilities for educational activities.
- Supporting educational, training, and scientific research activities within the institution.
The solicitation, reception, management, and use of sponsorships must be publicly disclosed and listed at the receiving educational institution in compliance with applicable laws.
