According to Notice 5015/TB-LDTBXH in 2023 on the days off on Lunar New Year and National Day in 2024 for officials and public employees and workers:

1. Officials and public employees and workers of administrative agencies, public service units, political organizations, political-social organizations (hereinafter referred to as officials and public employees) will have the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday from Thursday, February 8, 2024 (29th day of the twelfth lunar month, Quy Mao year) until the end of Wednesday, February 14, 2024 (5th day of the first lunar month, Giap Thin year). This period includes 5 days of Lunar New Year holidays and 2 days of compensatory weekly rest days as stipulated in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.

2. Officials and public employees have the National Day holiday in 2024 from Saturday, August 31, 2024, to the end of Tuesday, September 3, 2024. This period includes 2 days of National Day holidays and 2 weekly rest days.

3. Agencies and units implementing the Lunar New Year holiday schedule and National Day holiday in 2024 should arrange and assign work appropriately to ensure continuous workflow and efficiently serve organizations and the public.

4. Agencies and units that do not implement regular weekly rest days on Saturdays and Sundays will make arrangements based on the specific programs and plans of the unit to arrange suitable holiday schedules.

5. For workers not covered under Clause 1 of this Notice, the employer will decide on a Lunar New Year and National Day holiday plan for 2024 as follows:

- For the Lunar New Year period: choose one of the following options:- 1 last day of the Quy Mao year and 4 first days of the Giap Thin year or- 2 last days of the Quy Mao year and 3 first days of the Giap Thin year or- 3 last days of the Quy Mao year and 2 first days of the Giap Thin year.

- For the National Day period: Monday, September 2, 2024, and choose one of the following days: Sunday, September 1, 2024, or Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

- Notify the plan for the Lunar New Year and National Day holidays for 2024 to workers at least 30 days prior to implementation.

- If a weekly rest day coincides with a holiday stipulated in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code, the worker is entitled to a compensatory rest day on the next working day as stipulated in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.

- Encourage employers to apply the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for workers in the same manner as for officials and public employees.

Currently, there are no specific regulations concerning the National Day holiday schedule on September 2 for students. However, teachers and lecturers, who are public employees and workers, will follow the National Day holiday regulation. Therefore, students will also follow this holiday schedule.

The National Day holiday schedule for students in 2024 is as follows:

- If students attend public universities or colleges, the National Day holiday will be from Saturday, August 31, 2024, to the end of Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

* In cases where universities or colleges do not observe regular weekly rest days on Saturdays and Sundays, the specific programs and plans of the unit will determine the appropriate holiday schedule.

- If students attend non-public universities or colleges, the National Day holiday will be on Monday, September 2, 2024, and the university or college will choose one of the following days: Sunday, September 1, 2024, or Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

4. Recognize the completion of the primary education program and the graduation of lower secondary education before June 30, 2025.

5. Complete the enrollment for all entry-level classes before July 31, 2025.

6. The high school graduation exam for 2025 is tentatively scheduled for June 26 and June 27, 2025.

7. Other national examinations will be conducted according to the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, the opening ceremony will be held on September 5, 2024.
