Under the provisions of Article 13 of the Regulations issued together with Circular 27/2020/TT-BGDDT, it states as follows:

Commendations

1. Principals shall award certificates of achievement for students:

a) End-of-year commendation:

- Award Excellent student title for student achieving Excellent completion;

- Award Student with good completion in study and training title for students achieving Good completion and earning excellent achievement in at least 1 subject or show clear development in at least 1 trait or capacity and receive recognition by the whole class.

b) Irregular commendation: students earning sudden achievements in academic years.

2. Students with special achievements considered and requested for commendation by the schools.

3. Managing officials and teachers may send commendation letters to students with achievements and efforts during studying, training processes or students with good deeds.

Primary school students achieving the following titles will be awarded certificates of achievement :

- Excellent student

- Student with good completion in study and training

- Students with sudden achievements during the academic year

Additionally, students with special achievements considered and requested for commendation by the schools.

Which legislative document applies to the assessment of 3rd-grade students in Vietnam this year?

Under the provisions of Article 2 Circular 27/2020/TT-BGDDT:

 Regulations on assessment of primary school students shall be implemented complying with the following roadmap:

1. From 2020-2021 academic year for first grade.

2. From 2021-2022 academic year for second grade.

3. From 2022-2023 academic year for third grade.

4. From 2023-2024 academic year for fourth grade.

5. From 2024-2025 academic year for fifth grade.

Thus, according to the above provisions, in the 2024-2025 academic year , 3rd-grade students will be assessed under Circular 27/2020/TT-BGDDT.
