Yesterday, I went to the park to play. There, I saw a flock of pigeons. Their feathers were as white as cotton. They landed on the ground and bent down to peck at something. It seemed they were looking for food. I threw some bread crumbs to them. The flock of pigeons quickly ran over to eat it.

Sample 2:

My dog Bun is adorable. He is a kind of prairie dog so he is very smart. Every time I come home from school, he runs to the gate to greet me. His ears perk up. His tail wags constantly, excitedly. His tongue sticks out. His eyes shine brightly with joy. Sometimes he stands, sometimes he sits as if waiting for something really happy. I love Bun very much, he is a close friend of my family.

Sample 3:

Today I observed a whole flock of chickens searching for food. The rooster used its strong legs, with shiny golden scales, to scratch the ground. When he spotted an unfortunate grub, he used his hard beak to grab it and invited the hens and chicks over. He looked very “chivalrous” at that moment. Next, he found a clear spot with soft earth and warm sunshine to sunbathe. Observing the chickens was incredibly enjoyable.

Sample 4:

Aunt Hoa's cat catches mice very well. Once, I visited Aunt Hoa’s house and saw the cat chase and catch a mouse. Upon hearing a small noise, the cat immediately listened and chased the mouse. Soon, it caught the greedy little mouse. Since they had the cat, Aunt Hoa's house has had much less food stolen.

Sample 5:

On the grass by the dyke, many buffaloes and cows were grazing. The sight of the calf and its mother buffalo was so adorable. The mother buffalo was big and fat, with shiny black skin and a flicking tail, grazing on young grass. The calf ran from afar with its tail up, nestling its head into its mother’s udder. The young calf was so cute, with naturally golden fur, innocent as a baby taking its first steps. The mother buffalo occasionally turned her head to lick its head and back, her eyes wide with tenderness. The afternoon sun cast shadows of the mother buffalo and calf. I walked away, looking back at the countryside scene filled with maternal love.

Sample 6:

Yesterday, I went to the zoo. There were many animals. But I liked the monkeys best. They were very agile and mischievous. In the cage, they jumped around the trees. They even reached out their hands to ask visitors for food. I felt very excited and delighted.

Sample 7:

The mottled cat lay on its back on the step, basking its plump belly like a drum in the sun. Its four legs stretched straight to the sky, gently flexing its paws in the air as if pressing on cotton. Its eyes squinted, its small mouth yawning widely, revealing a cute pink tongue inside. After that, the cat lay still as if asleep, only rolling slightly to expose itself to the sun again a while later. The mottled cat sunbathing was so adorable.

Sample 8:

After some searching, the hen found a fragrant worm nest. She earnestly scratched the dirt, while not forgetting to cluck to call her chicks to eat. When the chicks arrived, she divided the food into small pieces and tossed them into the open space behind her for the chicks to eat. Watching the chicks engrossed in eating, cheeping ceaselessly, the hen slightly tilted her head, appearing very satisfied. She is truly a wonderful mother.

Sample 9:

My family has a dog. His name is Nho. He has a big and strong body. His fur is yellow and very smooth. His tail is very long. Whenever I come home from school, he wags his tail rapidly. Thanks to the dog guarding the house, my family sleeps soundly. I love him very much.

Sample 10:

My calico cat has fur as smooth as velvet. Its eyes are bright like two jade stones. Its long tail, white with black spots, sways gracefully with its slender and soft body, making it look very cute. With a very sensitive nose, very keen ears along with sharp claws, the cat catches mice excellently. Big mice, small mice, sewer rats, or house mice are all caught by it. It is loved and trusted by the whole family like a loyal and capable guard.

What types of paragraphs will 2nd-grade students in Vietnam learn to write?

Under Section 5 of the General Education Program for Literature, issued together with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, 2nd-grade students will learn to write the following types of paragraphs:

- A paragraph narrating an event

- A short, simple descriptive paragraph according to suggestions

- A paragraph expressing feelings towards loved ones

- A paragraph introducing animals, and objects; instructional texts for performing an activity, postcards, lists, book tables of contents, timetables, schedules

What are the duties of 2nd-grade students in Vietnam?

According to Article 34 of the Primary School Charter issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, 2nd-grade students' duties are prescribed as follows:

- Studying and training according to the education plan, and school regulations; having self-discipline in learning and training to comprehensively develop qualities and abilities according to the objectives of the primary school general education program.

- Fully and effectively performing study duties; knowing how to learn independently under the guidance of teachers; actively participating in experiential activities, applying learned knowledge to real life; exercising, and maintaining personal hygiene.

- Being filial to parents, and grandparents; respecting and being polite to teachers and elders; being united, loving, and helping friends, young children, the elderly, the disabled, and those with difficult circumstances.

- Complying with school and public place regulations; obeying traffic safety rules; maintaining cleanliness and protecting the environment.

- Contributing to activities that build, protect, and promote the traditions of the school and local community.
