Students can refer to the following sample paragraphs expressing feelings and emotions about a close person under the 4th-grade Vietnamese language curriculum:
My Mother
Everyone in my family loves and respects one another very much. To me, my mother is the closest and dearest person. My mother - a gentle, sincere woman, dedicated wholeheartedly to her children, is the person I will mention throughout my life with all love and respect.
The feelings I have for my mother cannot be fully expressed in words. Every day, my mother takes care of and worries about everything for me. She cooks meals, washes clothes, takes me to school, and guides me with my homework. How happy it is. I always feel my mother's presence beside me. Through the delicious lunch box, the scarf smelling of sunshine, the clean, white shoes. My mother understands, knows everything about me, sometimes even more clearly than I do. To me, my mother is like an all-powerful goddess who can do everything. I hope that my mother will forever be healthy and love me as she has always done.
My Father
The person I am most grateful to and respect is my father. My father is an ordinary construction worker, nothing too outstanding. My grandmother's family was poor and had many children, so my father had to drop out of school in 9th grade to go out into the world and earn a living.
Therefore, my father always tries to work hard so that my brother and I can have an education. Besides working with the construction crew, on days off and in his spare time, my father takes care of our family’s orange orchard on the hill. He also does manual labor for the nearby bus station.
My father works hard day and night to provide for the family. Thus, he appears older than his actual age. Although he is a rough and quiet man, the love my father has for me and my brother is immense. Anything beautiful or delicious he has, he gives to us.
Though not academically talented, my father is still a wonderful teacher, teaching me how to live well and the necessary skills in life. With my father beside me, I feel I am standing under the sturdiest roof. I am so proud and love my wonderful father deeply.
My Older Brother
The person I am closest to in my family is my older brother - Tuan. He is eleven years older than me and is currently a worker at an automobile repair shop near our home. He is tall, strong, and robust, thanks to his passion for sports.
Ever since we were young, he has always been a wonderful brother to me. Although he didn’t excel in school and didn’t go to university, Tuan still taught me many valuable things. He taught me to be polite to elders, dutiful toward grandparents and parents, and friendly with friends. He taught me how to plant vegetables, tend the flower garden, pump bicycle tires, and do house chores. Having Tuan by my side, I always feel joyous and happy.
Although he is much older than me, he still always plays with me, takes me out with my friends without fear of being bothered by me. He always smiles gently, patiently answering all my silly questions. When I make a mistake and get scolded by my parents, he stands up for me, so I don’t feel lonely.
I hope that such a wonderful brother will always be happy, smiling, and lucky. When I grow up, I will protect and take care of him just as he has cared for me all these years.
My Homeroom Teacher
Ms. Bich Ha has been my homeroom teacher since Grade 1. She was the one who taught me how to write my first letters and solve the simplest math problems.
To me, she is not only a teacher but also a mother and a friend. She taught me not only the knowledge from books but also valuable and meaningful life lessons. She cares for and loves me and my classmates like her own children. Every morning she greets me at the classroom door. At noon, she checks to see if any students have not eaten enough. She notices and cares for every sick or tired student.
I love Ms. Ha dearly. During the summer holidays away from her, I miss her intensely. I just wish for school to start again soon so I can see her, be mentored, and cared for by her every day. I feel truly happy and lucky to be one of Ms. Ha's students.
My Grandmother
My grandmother painted for me a whole beautiful childhood. My parents are workers in the industrial zone, so throughout my childhood, I grew up in my grandmother's arms.
She is like a grandmother, mother, and teacher all in one. She cares for me from meals to sleep, from clothes to toys. Her slender figure, the slight hunchback, and the white hair neatly tied with a velvet cloth are etched deeply into my memories. Her hands are wrinkled, coarse, but extraordinarily warm. That warmth is even more comforting than a winter stove, more than a freshly baked potato. There is no greater happiness than being patted on the head, gently patted on the back, and hugged tightly by her.
I am very grateful for the care and sacrifices my grandmother made for me. Along with this is the love and affection that is hard to put into words. When I had to leave her to go to the city with my parents to study, I cried a lot. A whole part of my heart collapsed, missing her warmth immensely.
Since then, I have realized how deep sadness feels. Every day, I eagerly look forward to calling her or visiting her in my hometown. Because I miss and love her dearly. I wish that she always stays healthy, joyful, so that in my heart, there remains a sunny sky.
