When is University enrollment in Vietnam in 2024?

In sub-section 8, section 1 of Official Dispatch 1957/BGDDT-GDDH of 2024 the enrollment confirmation guidance is as follows:

I. For candidates

8. Enrollment confirmation:

- For candidates admitted under the direct admission category, from July 22, 2024, to 5:00 PM on July 31, 2024, candidates can confirm their enrollment on the System (candidates who have confirmed enrollment will not be allowed to continue registering for further admissions unless permitted not to enroll by the head of the training institution). In case of undecided enrollment, candidates can continue registering for further admissions on the System or the National Public Service Portal like other candidates. If admitted, candidates will confirm enrollment according to the general schedule;

- No later than 5:00 PM on August 27, 2024, all admitted candidates must complete the first-round online enrollment confirmation on the System.

9. From August 28, 2024, to December 2024, candidates who wish to apply for additional admission rounds of the training institutions, follow the guidelines and timelines posted on the admission website of the training institutions (if supplemental admissions are conducted). Admitted candidates who have confirmed enrollment are not allowed to apply for additional admissions unless permitted not to enroll by the head of the training institution.

10. Candidates submit proofs for examination at the training institution (according to the time and location guidelines of the training institution). Candidates applying for exams with gifted subjects and using other training institutions' scores must contact the training institution to register for the test, take the test, or submit the test scores for gifted subjects.

What is the number of days off for universities for National day holiday in Vietnam - September 2, 2024?

According to Notification 5015/TB-LDTBXH of 2023 of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs to administrative agencies, career organizations, political organizations, socio-political organizations, businesses, and other employers regarding the Lunar New Year and National Day holidays in 2024 as follows:

1. Officials and public employees and workers of administrative agencies, career organizations, political organizations, socio-political organizations (hereinafter referred to as officials and public employees) will have the Lunar New Year holiday 2024 from Thursday, February 8, 2024 (the 29th day of the last lunar month of the Year of the Cat) to Wednesday, February 14, 2024 (the 5th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Dragon). This break includes 05 days off for the Lunar New Year and 02 compensatory days off for weekly rest days according to Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.

2. Public officials and public employees have the National Day holiday in 2024 from Saturday, August 31, 2024, to Tuesday, September 3, 2024. This break includes 02 days off for National Day and 02 weekly rest days.

3. Agencies and units implementing the Lunar New Year and National Day holiday schedule 2024 should ensure: reasonable allocation of staff to continuously work and serve the organization and the people well.

4. Agencies and units not implementing a fixed Saturday and Sunday weekly rest schedule will arrange a suitable holiday schedule based on their specific program and plan.

5. For workers not falling within the scope of Clause 1 of this notification, the employer decides the method of Lunar New Year and National Day holidays 2024 as follows:

- For the Lunar New Year holiday: choose one day at the end of the Year of the Cat and four days at the beginning of the Year of the Dragon, or two days at the end of the Year of the Cat and three days at the beginning of the Year of the Dragon, or three days at the end of the Year of the Cat and two days at the beginning of the Year of the Dragon.

- For the National Day holiday: Monday, September 2, 2024, and choose one of the two days: Sunday, September 1, 2024, or Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

- Notify the holiday plan for Lunar New Year and National Day 2024 to workers at least 30 days before implementation.

- If the weekly rest day coincides with the holiday, workers are entitled to a compensatory rest day on the next working day according to Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.

- Employers are encouraged to apply the same Lunar New Year holiday schedule for workers as for officials and public employees.
