Below are guidelines for preparing the lesson "Clouds and Waves":

Sample lesson "Clouds and Waves" for 6th-grade students

Question 1: When reading the poem "Clouds and Waves", it feels like hearing a story. Who is telling the story to whom and about what?

The poem is a storytelling by the child to their mother. The child recounts to the mother about his conversation with people in the clouds and waves, who invite him to play intriguing and attractive games, but he chooses to stay and play with his mother.

Question 2: Through the conversations of those "in the clouds" and "in the waves," how is their world portrayed?

Through the narrative, the world of "those in the clouds" and "in the waves" appears as follows:

- Distant, vast, containing mysterious things.

- Beautiful, vibrant, shimmering, magical (the golden sunlight of dawn, the silver moonlight at nightfall)

- Joyful and happy (there's only singing and wandering around from dusk till dawn)

For the child, that world is incredibly attractive, stirring desires to explore and wander in faraway realms.

Question 3: What feelings are expressed by the questions, "But how can I get there?" and "But how can I go out there?"

Through these questions, the child longs to visit those places. Within the child's questions lie eagerness and a yearning to travel to those fairy lands, to wander everywhere, and to enjoy fascinating games.

Question 4: Why does the child refuse the invitations of those "in the clouds" and "in the waves"?

The reasons for the child's refusal are as follows:

- For the child, what is important and meaningful beyond the wanderings and adventures is the mother waiting for him at home. The mother has always loved, cared for, and looked after him, so he always wants to be by her side.

- The mother's love for him means she always desires him to stay close, to make her happy, and being loved and cherished by her is incomparable happiness.

Question 5: What games has the child invented? What do you perceive about the mother-child bond through these games?

- The games the child invents

+ Child plays as the cloud, and the mother as the moon, so he can cover her with his hands

+ Child plays as the wave, and the mother as the shore, so he can roll into her arms

- The child's affection for the mother

+ The child always wants to be near the mother, play with the mother, willing to forego appealing games

+ The child invents games for the mother to play with, bringing them closer together

- The mother's affection for the child

+ Mother wants to care for, protect, and embrace the child (illustrated by the child saying that the mother is waiting at home, always wanting him there)

+ In these games, the mother is always watching over the child (the moon) and always embracing and nurturing (the shore)

Question 6: The text "Clouds and Waves" differs in form from the text "A Fairy Tale About Humanity" (The number of syllables in the lines is not equal, not rhymed). Why is it still considered poetry?

Because the work expresses emotions, an inner world. In reality, poetic form does not stipulate the number of syllables in a line, lack of rhyme, etc., which is referred to as prose poetry. The child in the poem uses the story about his conversation with those "in the clouds" and "in the waves" to express his love for his mother. The poet uses the child's story to express affection and fondness for children, nature, and a simple life.
