Its curved and long tail adds a touch of elegance to my Bong.

Every day, Bong and I are inseparable like best friends. When I study, it sleeps soundly under my chair. When I do house chores to help my mother, it trots behind me, occasionally nudging my hand playfully. Even when I went out to play with friends in the neighborhood, Bong would accompany me. Last summer, thanks to Bong, I was saved from drowning.

Near my house, there's a very clear and cool river. During hot summer days, the neighborhood kids would shout and swim in the river every day. Being terrified of water since I was young, despite being thirteen, I still couldn't swim. Seeing them play in the cool water, I felt envious. The mischievous kids would sometimes tease me for not knowing how to swim when they saw me pass by. That day, I cried for a long time beside Bong. The dog lay still without moving, lying in my lap like that for hours.

The next day, I decided to learn to swim to prove that I wasn't a cowardly child. When I saw myself carrying a swimming float to the riverbank, Bong jumped around excitedly, as if to cheer me on. So, I went to learn how to swim with my little dog. At first, I felt very scared and anxious when I got into the water. I wanted to jump back to the shore immediately. But memories of the teasing words and laughter of the village kids encouraged me to push through my fears and hold on tight to the swimming float. After struggling for a while, I felt exhausted. From the bank, there was a barking. Bong was cheering for me. Seeing that, I tried to keep kicking. After a while, because I was too tired, I accidentally let go of the float. And then... one... two... three, I suddenly sank into the water. Terrified and panicked, I could only scream once before it felt like thousands of water demons were trying to drown me... And then I knew nothing more.

When I woke up, I found myself in my small room, with Bong lying beside me looking sad. At the sound, it perked up and its eyes lit up seeing me awake. The dog jumped around joyfully, barking loudly, and ran to the yard to alert everyone. Following Bong, my mother entered with a gentle smile and asked me kindly. From my mother's story, I learned that just as I sank, Bong ran to the house near the riverbank, barking loudly, causing people to follow it and save me from the dreadful water. I extended my arms, and Bong rushed into my embrace. I patted my beloved and smart little dog on the head. The dog rubbed against me lovingly. Thanks to that little dog, I was saved.

After that incident, my father promised to teach me how to swim. Every weekend evening, Bong and I would follow my father to the riverbank. Father would teach me bit by bit, while my small dog attentively watched and encouraged me.

Everyone's childhood is tied to a beloved pet, which could be a turtle, a bird, or a cat. For me, my childhood is linked to the brave dog, Phi Phi.

Phi Phi is a crossbreed shepherd dog that I... found in a park! The story goes like this: about a year ago, during an evening run in the park, I heard a weak whining sound in a bush. Curious, I parted the leaves and found a weak little dog lying whining in a cardboard box. I felt sorry for it, so I took it home. I was surprised when, upon bringing Phi Phi home, my parents not only didn't scold me but urged me to get milk for it!

Now, Phi Phi is all grown up. Its fur is smooth black, its four legs tall and sturdy. Its ears are always perked up, listening to every surrounding sound. Its nose has a sniffing aura about it. Phi Phi is very well-behaved and brave. At night, it always stays outside on the porch. With Phi Phi outside, my family feels very secure while sleeping. One day, an event occurred where my family deeply felt Phi Phi's bravery and loyalty.

It was a cold winter's night. Like always, Phi Phi lay on guard outside the porch. We were all sleeping when suddenly, we heard Phi Phi barking fiercely and the sound of its chain clanging. Father hurriedly got up, softly grabbed a stick, and snuck outside. At the end of the garden, a suspicious shadow was moving. Sensing the disturbance, the thief quickly climbed the wall to escape. Father shouted to alert the neighbors while rushing towards the thief. Phi Phi also frantically leapt, the chain being tugged to its limit. Father chased the thief. Unexpectedly, the thief turned and kicked Father. Off guard, Father fell. Taking advantage, the thief pinned Father down, pulling a knife out with his right hand and ready to strike. At that moment, Phi Phi suddenly rushed and bit the thief's knife-wielding hand, relentlessly holding on despite his efforts to shake it off. The scuffle ended when neighbors rushed in to capture the thief. My mother, while gently aiding Father back indoors, instructed my siblings and me to get milk for Phi Phi and bring it inside.

After that day, Phi Phi became famous in the neighborhood for the "heroic rescue" story. The caught thief later confessed to numerous crimes he was involved in. My family and Phi Phi were even commended!

Phi Phi still lives with my family to this day. It is always cherished and loved by the entire family, especially by me. Phi Phi may be just a dog, but there's much we can learn from it, don't you think?
