Descriptive Essay - Sample No. 1:

"Father's labor is as vast as Mount Tai,

Mother's love is like the never-ending source."

Whenever I hear these folk verses, my heart stirs, reminding me of my beloved mother. My mother endured countless pains and hardships to bring me into this world. She devoted her entire life to caring for and following my every step of growth. To me, the image of my mother will always be the most beautiful and sacred.

This year, my mother has passed the age of 40. Yet, she still looks very youthful. In every important moment of my life, whether sad or happy, I always remember my mother's figure. My mother has a slender figure and her fair skin now shows wrinkles. Mother is a youthful, dynamic, and enthusiastic woman, but behind that bright façade is a great sacrifice to raise me. That's why her hands are calloused and bony. But for some reason, I always want to be embraced and comforted by those warm hands. Perhaps it's because those hands have endured so many hardships for me? My mother's hardships are also clearly shown through the wrinkles and crow's feet on her face. Her oval face, high forehead, and straight eyebrows create her uniquely serene features. My mother has a pair of bright black dove eyes, full of kindness and affection. But when I disobey her, those eyes become inexplicably sad. Mother's nose is high and harmonious with her natural features. The impression that leaves the deepest mark on me is her smile. Mother's radiant smile is thanks to her small mouth, heart-shaped lips, and even white teeth. That smile is like the morning sun, warm, friendly, harmonious, and full of love. Whenever I'm sad, a look at her encouraging smile gives me more motivation. Sometimes, that smile disappears, replaced by tears. At those times, she looks like a flower wilting, strangely sad...! So I always tell myself to study hard and excel to keep that smile on her lips.

Being a family woman, my mother is both gentle and very strict. She stays up late and wakes up early to take care of every meal and sleep for our family. Every morning when I wake up, I feel so happy to eat the food my mother cooks. She quickly stirs the food in the pan. She carefully seasons and then serves it in bowls and plates for me. In the past, I was a picky eater. She always made me finish my meals. Now I understand, she only wanted me to be healthy. She often advises and guides me in my studies.

Perhaps, all of us cherish our mothers the most. Those who spent their lives sacrificing for their children. That's why, whether in the past or now, people always praise the holy maternal love. I also love and cherish my mother and am very proud to be her child.

Descriptive Essay - Sample No. 2:

In my family, my father is the person who loves me the most. He always listens to everyone speak, especially me.

My father has a large, tall, and strong physique. He is very strong and always helps everyone in the family. He has muscular arms, and his hands are as calloused as stone because of hard work. Father's face is round with a high nose, wide mouth, a beard, and he has beautiful brown eyes.

Whenever I go to school, both my father and mother see me off. Father advises me carefully, reminding me to "be attentive at school today...", and "listen to the teacher...", but the last words are always "Be careful on your way." When I come home, as I'm bringing my bike into the house, his voice echoes from inside, "Are you home?" But he is also very strict; whenever I make mistakes or get low grades, he makes me write a self-evaluation. Yet, I still love him.

My father! The pillar of our family. To me, he turns big tasks into small ones, and lets minor tasks go. My father is a bright example for our family. As the proverb says, "A house without a father is like a roofless house," and indeed it is true. My father is like the father in that proverb, a model individual and an indispensable pillar in our family. Hardworking, persistent, intelligent unlike any other, and always determined to accomplish whatever he sets his mind to, he is highly respected by many.

I am very proud to be his son, and I will always remember what he taught me and strive to study diligently to honor his efforts.

Descriptive Essay - Sample No. 3:

"Grandmother is gentle like a crystal stream." This is a verse that I very much like because I truly love my grandmother. She cared for me from birth and lulled me with sweet, soothing lullabies.

My grandmother is a hardworking, resilient woman. She always has to endure with a bent back. Her hair is silvery. Her cheeks are sunken, with slightly protruding temples. Her face is lined with wrinkles, yet she still retains the beauty of her youth. An oval face, a high nose, and even teeth. Her back is bent and she walks slowly, but she always busies herself with work, seldom idle. From early morning, she feeds the chickens, cooks rice, boils water, sweeps the house, and the yard... Once done, she goes to the garden to hoe, weed, water, and fertilize the plants.

She is very kind and good-hearted. With her children and grandchildren, she is extremely loving. Whenever I visit her, she always has cakes or candies for me: sometimes sweets that she brought from her temple visits, sometimes cakes that uncles and aunts gifted her. Specially, she never forgets to inquire about my studies and my parents' work. She always advises and reminds me about how to behave well with everyone and to study diligently. With neighbors, she always inquires and shares when they are sick; helps those less fortunate or families in difficulty.

I always respect and wish for her long life because I always understand that the love she gives me is infinite!
