What are the required literary competencies for 4th-grade students in Vietnam?
Under the General Education Program for Literature attached to Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the required literary competencies for 4th-grade students in Vietnam are as follows:
- General literary competencies:
+ Distinguish between narrative and poetic texts (prose and poetry sections);
+ Identify the content of the text and the writer's attitude and feelings;
+ Initially understand the effects of some literary textual elements (language, characters, plot, poetic rhymes, comparisons, personification). Know how to use imagination and describe literarily in writing and speaking.
- Required literary competencies for 4th-grade students for 4th-grade students:
+ Know how to read literary texts expressively; retell or summarize the main content of stories and poems; critique characters, events, and the writer's attitude and feelings in the texts;
