In the new era, each individual must deeply understand their responsibility in the work of building and developing the country, continuing the heroic spirit of our forefathers to elevate Vietnam strongly on the international stage.
Below are guidelines for showing feelings on the Historical Victory on April 30, 1975, and giving the responsibility of individuals in the New Era:
(1) Historical victory on April 30, 1975 - The Great Epic of the Nation
April 30, 1975, is one of the most glorious milestones in Vietnamese national history. It is not only the day marking the complete liberation of the South and national reunification but also signals the collapse of new colonial policies, ending more than a century of struggle against invaders by our people.
The Ho Chi Minh Campaign triumphed on April 30, 1975, as an inevitable result of persistent and indomitable struggle by the entire Communist Party, the whole people, and our entire army under the ingenious leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh. This victory is not only meaningful to the Vietnamese nation but also serves as a powerful inspiration for the movement for national independence and peace worldwide.
The Spring 1975 general offensive and uprising took place in a context where the power comparison between us and the enemy favored us significantly. Recognizing the strategic opportunity, the Politburo outlined a plan to liberate the South in the years 1975 - 1976. However, thanks to the flexible, wise direction of the Communist Party, combined with the comprehensive strength of our army and people, the campaign unfolded more quickly than expected, bringing a resounding victory in the year 1975.
The campaign began with the Central Highlands campaign, with the key victory at Buon Ma Thuot breaking the enemy's defense line and paving the way for our army to advance to the South. Subsequently, the Hue - Da Nang campaign achieved great success, creating conditions for the decisive battle on the final stronghold of the Saigon government. On April 26, 1975, our troops simultaneously attacked downtown Saigon from five strategic directions, swiftly capturing the central agencies. By 11:30 a.m. on April 30, 1975, the revolutionary flag fluttered over Independence Palace, marking the complete victory of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, fully liberating the South and unifying the country.
The victory on April 30, 1975, is not only significant for the Vietnamese nation but also a shining symbol of the movement for national liberation worldwide. It affirms the truth that, even when faced with powerful enemies, a resilient and united nation with correct policies can still achieve victory. The greatest lesson from this victory lies in the ingenious leadership of the Communist Party, passionate patriotism, the close unity of the entire people, and especially the resilient determination to fight for the nation's independence and freedom. These are immutable values that today’s generation must inherit and promote.

Today, our country steps into a new era—an era of integration and development. With significant achievements after nearly 50 years of reunification, Vietnam has risen strongly, transforming from a poor, backward country to a nation with a dynamic, developing economy and an increasingly high status on the international stage. However, along with opportunities come great challenges. To protect and develop the country, we need to continue promoting the spirit of April 30, determined to build a powerful and prosperous Vietnam.
(3) The Responsibility of Each Individual in the New Era
As the younger generation born in peace, we are fortunate not to bear arms in battle yet carry the mission of building and developing the country. To be worthy of our forefathers' sacrifice, every Vietnamese must clearly identify their responsibility in the work of building and protecting the nation.
- Maintain Political Stability and Firm Ideological Stance
In the era of information explosion and international integration, maintaining a correct political and ideological stance is extremely important. Each individual, especially the younger generation, must proactively study and understand the nation's history, enhancing awareness to avoid being misled by false and distorted information.
- Continuous Learning, Training, and Skill Enhancement
For a nation to develop strongly, its human resources must be highly qualified. Therefore, everyone must self-improve their knowledge and skills, constantly learning to keep up with the era's trends. Today’s youth should be innovative and creative thinkers who know how to apply technology practically to help Vietnam reach further.
- Contribute to Building the Economy and Develop the Country
For Vietnam to become a prosperous nation, everyone needs to contribute to the general development of the economy. Regardless of the position—from employee, farmer, intellectual, to entrepreneur—we must all work with the highest responsibility, striving to contribute to enhancing labor productivity and promoting economic growth.
- Preserve and Promote National Cultural Identity
In the age of globalization, it is necessary to absorb the world's cultural essences, but more importantly, it is to preserve national identity. Each person needs to consciously preserve and promote the beautiful traditional cultural values, from language, writing, customs, ethics, lifestyle, to patriotism and unity.
- Elevate the Spirit of Responsibility to Society and the Country
Nation-building is not the responsibility of any one individual but the duty of the entire nation. Everyone must have a spirit of responsibility towards the community, actively participate in social activities, protect the environment, and contribute to the sustainable development of the country. At the same time, it is essential to uphold solidarity, mutual support, and work together to build a civilized, fair, and humane society.
(4) Determination to Build a Prosperous, Civilized, Heroic Vietnam
The victory on April 30, 1975, is our pride and motivation to continue advancing. In the new era, every Vietnamese must be responsible for preserving and promoting the revolutionary achievements, contributing to the continuous development of our country.
The Communist Party and the State have implemented many policies to develop the country comprehensively. However, sustainable development only truly happens when each citizen is aware of their responsibility, working together to realize the aspiration for a powerful Vietnam.
Today’s youth must be pioneers in innovation, creativity, and dedication to the common cause. By studying and following the ethical example of Ho Chi Minh, using patriotism as a guide, knowledge as a weapon, and creativity as a motivation, we can completely realize the aspiration to make Vietnam a prosperous, civilized nation.
