- Some cases of teachers currently teaching are determined to meet the standards of training qualification for middle school teachers, including:
a) Teachers assigned to teach History and Geography must have at least a bachelor's degree in teacher training in History or Geography, or a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant major in History, Geography. In the case of having a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant major, they must have a teaching profession training certificate for middle school teachers according to the program issued by the Minister of Education and Training;
b) Teachers assigned to teach Natural Science must have at least a bachelor's degree in teacher training in Natural Science or Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant major in Natural Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology. In the case of having a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant major, they must have a teaching profession training certificate for middle school teachers according to the program issued by the Minister of Education and Training;
c) Teachers assigned to teach Technology must have at least a bachelor's degree in teacher training in Technology or Industrial Engineering or Agricultural Engineering, or a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant major in Technology, Industrial Engineering, Agricultural Engineering. In the case of having a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant major, they must have a teaching profession training certificate for middle school teachers according to the program issued by the Minister of Education and Training;

Hence, public lower secondary school history and geography teachers must have a bachelor's degree or higher in teacher training in History or Geography, or a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant major in History or Geography.
In case of having a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant major, they must have a teaching profession training certificate for middle school teachers according to the program issued by the Minister of Education and Training.

- Adhere to the guidelines, policies of the Communist Party, laws of the State, and regulations of the sector and localities regarding secondary education.
- Continuously cultivate ethics, uphold a sense of responsibility, maintain the qualities, honor, and reputation of educators; set an example for students.
- Love, treat fairly, and respect students; protect students' legitimate rights and interests; unite and help colleagues.
- Strictly comply with the general responsibilities and obligations of public employees and the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on teachers' ethics.
What are the duties of a rank 3 public lower secondary school history and geography teacher in Vietnam?
According to Clause 1, Article 3 of Circular 03/2021/TT-BGDDT, the duties of a rank 3 public lower secondary school history and geography teacher are as follows:
- Develop the educational plan for the assigned subject and participate in developing the educational plan of the professional group according to the goals and curriculum of secondary education;
- Teach and educate students according to the school's and professional group's educational plan; manage students in educational activities organized by the school;
- Use teaching and educational methods to promote students' abilities and qualities and actively engage students' activities;
- Conduct activities to test and evaluate students' academic performance and training results according to regulations;
- Participate in identifying and nurturing gifted students or tutoring weak students, or guiding student teachers (if any);
- Organize psychological counseling and career guidance activities for students and their parents of the assigned class;
- Collaborate with relevant organizations and individuals to carry out teaching, education, psychological counseling, and career guidance activities for students;
- Participate in activities of the professional group; engage in scientific research; complete the documentation system to manage educational activities according to regulations; implement secondary education universalization and inclusive education within the assigned scope; participate in organizing competitions (for teachers or students) from the school level upwards (if any);
- Complete training courses and refresher programs as prescribed; self-study and self-improve to enhance professional and career competencies;
- Perform other tasks assigned by the principal.
