- To select and recognize teachers who achieve the "Excellent Teachers in Intermediate Professional Education" title; create conditions for management staff, teachers in intermediate professional education, organizations, units, and individuals involved in intermediate professional education to have opportunities to exchange, learn, and share experiences on intermediate professional education, fostering solidarity, cooperation, and mutual development;
- To contribute to promoting competitions within schools and the education sector, encouraging teachers to self-improve and learn to enhance their skills; to identify, summarize, and disseminate effective teaching and educational methods, practical and beneficial experiences in activities for intermediate professional education;
- The competition serves as one of the bases for evaluating the current state, building training plans, and improving the professional and pedagogical skills of teachers, contributing to meeting the training requirements of intermediate professional education.

What are the regulations on the authority to organize the Competition for Selection of Excellent Teachers in Intermediate Professional Education at each level in Vietnam?
According to Article 4 of the Regulations for the Competition for Selection of Excellent Teachers in Intermediate Professional Education issued along with Circular 25/2012/TT-BGDDT, the authority and periodicity of organizing the Competition for Selection of Excellent Teachers in Intermediate Professional Education at each level are stipulated as follows:
- The school-level competition is organized by the school. The school-level competition is regularly held once a year, but may be postponed or advanced by no more than 6 months as decided by the school;
- The Provincial-level competition is organized by the Department of Education and Training. The Provincial-level competition is organized every 1 to 2 years, with the time decided by the Department of Education and Training;
- The national-level competition is organized by the Ministry of Education and Training. The national-level competition is regularly held once every 3 years and may be postponed or advanced by no more than 1 year as decided by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Application for the Competition
The application for the competition is prepared, assembled, completed and submitted by the head of the agency or the head of the unit organizing a team or delegation to the competition per the Organizing Committee's regulations, including:
- A list of the participants according to the Organizing Committee's regulations.
- Lesson plans for the teaching contest, outlines of the teaching contest's content for each contestant along with copies of detailed syllabuses of the course containing the contestant's content (certified by the Principal or an authorized person).
- Portrait photos of the contestants, photo requirements specified by the Organizing Committee (applicable only to provincial and national levels).
- Other application requirements as specified by the Organizing Committee.
Thus, the application for the Competition for Selection of Excellent Teachers in Intermediate Professional Education in Vietnam is prepared by the head of the agency or unit organizing the delegation or team for the competition.
What are the funding sources for organizing the Competition for Selection of Excellent Teachers in Intermediate Professional Education in Vietnam?
According to Article 23 of the Regulations for the Competition for Selection of Excellent Teachers in Intermediate Professional Education issued with Circular 25/2012/TT-BGDDT, the funding for organizing the Competition is as follows:
- The funding for school-level competitions is decided by the Principal according to current legal regulations.
- The funding for provincial and national level competitions is covered by the state budget within the annual educational expenditure plans allocated to the authority responsible for organizing the competition, along with other legal funding sources.
- The competent authority or the Organizing Committee of the competition may mobilize other funding sources as conformed by law to supplement the competition funding.
- Expenditures and expenditure levels for competition activities shall follow legal regulations.
