- Enhance the pedagogical capacity of lecturers: innovate teaching methods and assessment forms, create conditions for lecturers to learn, experience, and exchange experiences on pedagogical skills, strengthen unity, cooperation to improve the quality of education and training;

- Discover, recognize, commend, and summarize, disseminate effective models, methods of training organization, teaching and assessment in higher education institutions and pedagogical colleges;

- Contribute to promoting emulation movements and campaigns of the schools and the sector; encourage lecturers to self-train, learn, foster and improve their qualifications and professional capacity;

- Serve as a basis for evaluating the pedagogical capacity of the lecturer team, providing a foundation for management agencies and institutions to direct the innovation of teaching methods, assessment, and pedagogical skill training for lecturers to meet the requirements of improving training quality.

What are the requirements regarding the examination content of the National-level Competition for Selection of Lecturers with Excellent Pedagogical Skills in Vietnam?

Under Clause 3, Article 5 of the Regulations on the National-level Competition for Selection of Lecturers with Excellent Pedagogical Skills attached to Decision 2777/QD-BGDDT of 2022, the examination content of the competition must meet the following requirements:

- Reflect the guidelines and policies of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the State's laws, the rules, regulations, and provisions of the education sector concerning objectives, content, programs, teaching methods, and assessment methods;

- Reflect the distinctive characteristics of the teaching profession; demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and pedagogical competencies of educators in handling relationships: with students, colleagues; educational management staff; with the community (parents, educational institutions, manufacturing, business entities, human resource management agencies, and local authorities...);

- Reflect the current movements and emulation campaigns being deployed in the education and training sector;

- Reflect issues of higher education currently of public concern, such as: Innovation, digital transformation, international integration, high-skilled workforce training, entrepreneurship, and school culture...;

- Introduce scientific publications domestically and internationally, scientific and technological research results transferred, applied in practice, community activities, and products registered for intellectual property rights (if any) to contribute to the innovation of education quality.

What are the eligibility requirements for lecturers to participate in the National-level Competition for Selection of Lecturers with Excellent Pedagogical Skills in Vietnam?

Under Article 6 of the Regulations on the National-level Competition for Selection of Lecturers with Excellent Pedagogical Skills attached to Decision 2777/QD-BGDDT of 2022, the eligibility requirements for lecturers to participate in the National-level Competition for Selection of Lecturers with Excellent Pedagogical Skills in Vietnam are:

Eligibility for participation

1. For leactures:

a) Be a full-time lecturer at the institution according to current regulations;

b) Meet the lecturer standards prescribed in current documents;

c) Successfully complete all assigned tasks;

d) Not subject to any legal or disciplinary actions for violations within 2 consecutive years prior to the competition;

dd0 Fulfill the requirements for registration documents for the Competition as stated in Clause 2, Article 12 of this Regulation;

2. Other conditions specified by the Competition Organizing Committee.

What are the duties and powers of the Organizing Committee of the National-level Competition for Selection of Lecturers with Excellent Pedagogical Skills in Vietnam?

According to Clause 2, Article 8 of the Regulations on the National-level Competition for Selection of Lecturers with Excellent Pedagogical Skills attached to Decision 2777/QD-BGDDT of 2022, the duties and powers of the Organizing Committee are:

- Organizing and managing all activities of the competition as per these regulations; using the seal of the authorized organizing unit for competition-related tasks; establishing assistance committees for the competition;

- Developing the competition plan and distributing it to relevant units and individuals; devising the program of activities, establishing examination rules, and setting the examination schedule; preparing other related documents for the competition;

- Preparing venues, equipment, facilities, funding, and other conditions to ensure the activities of the competition; promoting and advocating to attract organizations and individuals to support the competition; mobilizing financial resources and other resources for the competition according to legal provisions;

- Preparing and conducting the organization of testing, evaluating the examination contents, and other activities to achieve the competition's objectives as per these regulations;

- Organizing commendations for organizations and individuals participating in the competition in accordance with current legal regulations; proposing to competent authorities to issue certificates of lecturers with excellent pedagogical skills;

- Addressing complaints about the grading and ranking from participating units and individuals; handling or recommending to authorities the handling of organizations or individuals violating these regulations;

- Summarizing, evaluating, and announcing the competition results; implementing reporting policies to competent authorities on issues related to the competition;

- Performing other duties and exercising powers related to organizing the competition as per legal regulations.
