According to Notice No. 2988/TB-SGDDT in 2024 DOWNLOAD regarding the exam format for the Entrance Exam to Grade 10 High Schools in Hanoi City under the 2018 General Education Program, the structure of the Grade 10 High School Entrance Exam in the Natural Science subject is as follows:

*Note:

- Part I: Consists of multiple-choice questions with 04 options, selecting 01 correct answer.

- Part II: Consists of True/False multiple-choice questions. Each question has 04 parts. In each part a), b), c), d) of each question, candidates choose true or false.

- Part III: Consists of short-answer multiple-choice questions. Candidates fill in the corresponding boxes with their answers.

***Scoring for multiple-choice exams including Natural Science subject will be as follows:

* Multiple Choice

- Multiple-choice questions (Part I): Each correct answer earns 0.25 points.

- True/False multiple-choice questions (Part II):

The maximum score for one question is 1.0 point, where:

+ Choosing only 01 correct part in one question earns 0.1 points;

+ Choosing only 02 correct parts in one question earns 0.25 points;

+ Choosing only 03 correct parts in one question earns 0.5 points;

Choosing all 04 correct parts in one question earns 1.0 point.

- Short-answer multiple-choice questions (Part III): Each correct answer earns 0.25 points.

- The total maximum score for the entire test: 10 points.

Exam Format Structure for the Entrance Exam to Grade 10 High Schools in Hanoi City

NOTE: This is a Notice on the Exam Format Structure for the Entrance Exam to Grade 10 High Schools in Hanoi City

On August 29, 2024, the Department of Education and Training announced the Exam Format Structure for the Entrance Exam to Grade 10 High Schools in Hanoi City under the 2018 General Education Program via Notice No. 2988/TB-SGDDT in 2024 DOWNLOAD

In this notice, the Department of Education and Training suggests that the Heads of the Education and Training Departments of districts, towns direct the secondary schools in their areas to implement the following:

[1] Inform the entire staff, teachers, and students of the school about the Exam Format Structure for the Entrance Exam to Grade 10 High Schools in Hanoi City under the 2018 General Education Program.

[2] Direct specialized groups and subject groups to study and apply the appropriate Exam Format Structure according to each subject, especially the objective multiple-choice formats to familiarize Grade 9 secondary school students; enhance the multiple-choice formats including: Multiple-choice questions with 04 options selecting 01 correct answer; True/False multiple-choice (each question has 04 parts, in each part selecting true or false); Short-answer multiple-choice questions.

[3] Enhance the construction of question banks, test matrices according to the required achievements of the subject curriculum; prepare for Grade 9 students to familiarize themselves with the orientation of the entrance exam questions to Grade 10 High Schools under the 2018 General Education Program.

Encourage schools in the area to build a Digital Library of test questions, share with educational institutions in the area to jointly exchange, study, and effectively implement evaluation methods and assessment, survey.

[4] Research, implement the use of data in test questions, ensure conformity.

For the Literature subject, avoid using texts and excerpts already studied in textbooks for testing reading comprehension and writing skills in periodic tests to prevent students from merely memorizing or copying available materials.

What Documents are Required for Admission to Grade 10 High Schools in Vietnam?

According to Article 6 of the Admission Regulations for Secondary Schools and High Schools issued with Circular 11/2014/TT-BGDDT (with some content annulled by Article 2 of Circular 05/2018/TT-BGDDT), the admission documents for Grade 10 include:

[1] Valid copy of the birth certificate.

[2] Secondary School graduation certificate or temporary graduation certificate or a copy of the Secondary School graduation certificate.

[3] Secondary School academic transcript.

[4] Certification of priority policies issued by an authorized agency (if any).

[5] Certification issued by the commune, ward, or commune-level town People's Committee (for those who graduated from secondary school in previous academic years) not under imprisonment, non-custodial reform, or violating the law.
