Guidelines for preparing the Lesson "Matt's Forest"

Question 1: Introduction to "Forest Farm" and Matt's connection to it.

"Forest Farm" is a vast farm famous in the region, handed down by Matt's ancestors. It's home to many types of trees, including rare varieties. Matt lived with his grandfather and cared for the forest daily under his grandfather's attentive guidance. Thus, he understood the names and characteristics of many types of trees. When his grandfather passed away, Matt took on the responsibility of taking care of the farm and promised to protect this place well.

Question 2: What happened to the farm? How did this affect Matt?

One night, a thunderstorm arose, and lightning struck the tallest tree in the farm, starting a massive fire. The fire quickly spread, burning down the entire forest despite everyone's efforts to extinguish it. After the fire, Matt was heartbroken, exhausted, and fainted. Upon waking up in the hospital, he was in a state of sadness and despair.

Question 3: Actions Matt took to restore the farm.

Although deeply saddened, thanks to the old lady’s advice, Matt thought positively and was determined to restore the farm. He hired people to turn the charred trees into charcoal to sell for money. With that money, Matt bought seedlings and continued to replant the forest, keeping his promise to his grandfather. With perseverance and determination, years later, his farm became lush again and was called "Matt's Forest," admired by everyone.

Question 4: Why did Matt awaken and become determined to restore the farm upon hearing the old lady say: “Trees can be replanted after being burnt. You’re still young!”?

The old lady’s words, while simple, held deep meaning. They helped Matt realize that failure was not the end but just a challenge on the road ahead. He was still young, with many opportunities to start over. This encouragement helped Matt change his mindset from despair to determination to restore the farm.

Question 5: Thoughts on the character Matt in the story.

Matt is a person who loves nature and cherishes the traditional values handed down by his ancestors. Despite experiencing significant loss, he did not give up but found ways to overcome difficulties, demonstrating perseverance, creativity, and strong will. The story of Matt not only teaches lessons about protecting nature but also inspires courage, resilience, and determination in pursuing dreams. The character Matt makes me admire him and learn that even if we face failure, we can still rise and start anew through our efforts.
