The Violympic competition organizers (VioEdu) have officially announced the competition schedule and rules for the 2024-2025 academic year (VioEdu 2024-2025 schedule).

The Violympic competition for the 2024-2025 academic year will officially commence on September 1, 2024.

School-Level Competition Schedule

What are the official rules of the Violympic competition for the 2024-2025 academic year in Vietnam?

The official rules of the Violympic competition for the 2024-2025 academic year are as follows:

(1) Participants:

All students nationwide can register to participate in the following subjects and grade levels:

* Mathematics: for students from grades 1 to 12.

* Mathematics in English: for students from grades 1 to 9.

* Vietnamese Language: for students from grades 1 to 5.

* Natural Sciences: for students from grades 6 to 9.

* History and Geography: for students in grades 4 and 5.

(2) Registration Method

- Students register for an account to join the competition on the website: https://violympic.vn/ as stipulated by the Organizing Committee (OC). Students register for a specific grade level and only participate in that grade level.

- To join the competition, students must pay a maintenance fee for the account on the system. The specific fee will be announced by the OC on the official website and will be effective from September 5, 2024, to April 30, 2025. Accounts that have paid fees from May 1, 2024, to September 4, 2024, will remain valid until the end of April 30, 2025.

- After creating an account, students log in with the registered username and password and click the "Start" button to participate in the competition.

(3) Rules of the Competition

Students must sequentially overcome challenges in three stages: Preliminary Round, Regional Rounds, and National Round.

(i) Structure of Exam and Timing.

- Each challenge comprises 30 questions.

- The exam duration for each challenge is 30 minutes.

(ii) Ranking Criteria.

- The scores and time taken to overcome the challenges by students are the two indicators used for ranking.

- The ranking results for students when participating in challenges at each stage are considered independently.

- The ranking board will be updated by the system within 24 hours.

(iii) Preliminary Round.

- Participation condition: All students with registered accounts on the system can participate at any time from the opening of the trial.

- For the subjects: Mathematics, Mathematics in English, Vietnamese Language, students must complete challenges from 01 to 06 in order.

- For the subjects: Natural Sciences, History and Geography, students must complete examination rounds from 01 to 03 in order.

- The minimum condition to pass each challenge is 200 points.

- Students can retry multiple times, and the challenge only ends when the student presses the "Submit Result" button.

(iv) Regional Rounds include: School Level, District/County Level, and Province/City Level.

- The timing for students starts from the moment the test code is opened on the system.

- Ten minutes before the scheduled competition, the examination board will announce the test code. Ten minutes after the session begins, the system will automatically lock the test code.

(4) Certificates and Awards

(i) Regional Rounds.

Educational units can independently formulate award evaluation methods and issue Certificates to winning students. The OC has the following general award evaluation regulations:

School Level and District/County Level.

- The OC will issue online Certificates of Completion for the School Level and District/County Level to students achieving a minimum of 180 points.

Province/City Level.

- The OC will issue Certificates to students completing the Province/City Level satisfactorily according to the following criteria:

Outstanding Completion: Students achieve at least 250 points.

Good Completion: Students achieve between 200 to 240 points.

Completion: Students achieve between 150 to 190 points.

(ii) National Round.

Medals and certificates.

- The OC will only evaluate and issue Certificates to students achieving a minimum of 200 points at the National Final Round for each specific subject and grade level:

Gold Award: 2% of the total participating students, achieving at least 260 points.

Silver Award: 3% of the total participating students, achieving at least 240 points.

Bronze Award: 5% of the total participating students, achieving at least 220 points.

Consolation Prize: 15% of the total participating students, achieving at least 200 points.

- The OC will issue online National Level Certificates to students after announcing the list of awarded students and releasing the recognition decision.

(5) Rewards.

Rewards for the top 20 students in each subject of each grade level are as follows:

- Top 1: Prize worth 15,000,000 VND;

- Top 2 – 3: Physical prize worth 5,000,000 VND;

- Top 4 – 10: Physical prize worth 1,000,000 VND;

- Top 11 – 20: Physical prize worth 500,000 VND.

What are the duties of primary school students in Vietnam?

According to Article 34 of the Primary School Charter issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, primary school students have the following duties:

- Study and train according to the education plan and school regulations; be self-aware in studying and training for comprehensive development of qualities and competencies according to the goals of the general education program for primary education.

- Fully and effectively perform learning tasks; know how to self-study under the guidance of teachers; actively and positively participate in experiential activities, applying learned knowledge to practical life; practice physical fitness, maintain personal hygiene.

- Be filial to parents and grandparents; respect and be courteous to teachers and elders; unite, love, and help friends, younger ones, the elderly, the disabled, and those in difficult circumstances.

- Abide by the rules, protect school and public property; comply with traffic safety regulations; maintain hygiene and protect the environment.

- Contribute to activities building, protecting, and promoting the traditions of the school and local community.
