On November 13, 2024, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City issued Plan 7340/KH-SGDDT in 2024 regarding the organization plan of the 25th "Good Writing - Beautiful Handwriting" Contest for the 2024 - 2025 academic year. To be specific:

Purpose of the 25th "Good Writing - Beautiful Handwriting" Contest

The "Good Writing - Beautiful Handwriting" contest aims to create a learning, exchange, and recreational environment for middle school students who are passionate about creative writing and have a love for the art of handwriting. Through writing creatively and improving handwriting skills, students develop capabilities in Literature (communication skills, aesthetic capacity, thinking ability) and good qualities (appreciating beauty; having a rich spiritual life; possessing a compassionate, altruistic soul and lifestyle; being perseverant and patient).

Requirements of the 25th "Good Writing - Beautiful Handwriting" Contest

- Requirements for "Good Writing":

+ Students must master the skills of writing essays according to specific program requirements; know how to use language artistically and effectively.

+ Students should be able to discover and be moved by the beauty and good values of life; demonstrate observation, thinking, and reasoning abilities; show sincere emotions, unique perspectives, and personal reflections.

+ Students should possess creativity in both the content and form of their work.

+ The score for the "Good Writing" section is 12 points.

- Requirements for "Beautiful Handwriting":

+ Handwriting must be beautiful, clear, balanced, harmonious, with smooth and refined strokes, showing unique traits and creativity in the art of handwriting.

+ Aspects related to the presentation of the work (layout, reasoning, structure, etc.) must be clear, tidy, scientific, reasonable, and convincing.

+ The score for the "Beautiful Handwriting" section is 8 points.

Final Round of the 25th "Good Writing - Beautiful Handwriting" Contest at the City Level

- Time: from 7:45 AM to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

- Location: Nguyen Dinh Chieu Special School, No. 184 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Ward 3, District 10.

- Content:

+ 7:45 AM - 8:00 AM: gathering students, the opening ceremony of the contest

+ 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM: participating in experiential activities

+ 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM: performing the test as required

Are students who fail to participate in emulation movements during the school year in Vietnam required to undergo training during summer break?

Article 13 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT provides as follows:

Training during summer break

1. A student with Unqualified training results for the whole school year must undergo training during summer break.

2. Forms of training during summer break shall be decided by principals.

3. Based on forms of training during summer break, class advisors shall assign summer training tasks to students and inform students’ parents. At the end of the summer, if training tasks are considered completed by class advisors (reports on training progress and results must be produced and bear signatures of students' parents), class advisors shall request principals to conduct re-assessment of training results of the entire school year of students. Re-assessment results shall be used in place of training results of the entire school year which are used for considering grade advancement under Article 12 hereof.

Thus, only students with Unqualified training results for the whole school year must undergo training during summer break. Therefore, students who fail to participate in emulation movements during the school year in Vietnam are not required to undergo training during summer break.

Are students with achievements in emulation movements in Vietnam commended?

Article 15 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT prescribes rewards as follows:

Commendations

1. Principals shall award certificates of achievement for students

a) End-of-year commendation

- Award the title “Học sinh Xuất sắc” (Excellent student) for students who have obtained Excellent training and learning results for the entire school year and achieved DTBmcn of at least 9.0 in subjects that are assessed via both feedback and scores.

- Award the title “Học sinh Giỏi” (Good student) for students who have obtained Excellent training and learning results for the entire school year.

b) Commend students for having unexpected merits in training and learning in the school year.

2. Students with special achievements shall be considered and requested for commendation by schools.

Thus, students with achievements in emulation movements considered special achievements shall be considered and requested for commendation by schools.
