Purpose and Requirements of the 18th Tuoi Xanh Photography Contest for the 2024-2025 school year
[1] Purpose
- Create a learning environment to train skills and practice for students studying Photography at the lower and upper secondary levels.
- Develop creative thinking and artistic photography talents, guiding students towards a healthy lifestyle and love for beauty.
- Contribute to career orientation education, helping students understand professions, self-evaluate abilities to choose a future career suitable for their interests, abilities, family circumstances, and real societal needs.
[2] Requirements
- Entries must be of high quality, aesthetically pleasing, creative, and meet criteria on composition, lines, lighting, and promotional effectiveness, closely adhering to the contest theme; must not infringe copyright and legal regulations;
- Accurately evaluate the quality of the entries. The judging process should be objective and honest. The award-winning works and those exhibited will be widely used for promotional and educational purposes.
Content of the 18th Tuoi Xanh Photography Contest for the 2024-2025 school year

Students from lower and upper secondary schools and learners at Continuing Education Centers, Vocational Training and Continuing Education Centers in Thu Duc City and districts.

- The theme “Portrait of My City – From a Young Perspective” inspires photos showcasing the beauty of the City 50 years after liberation, from the young's perspective and perception.

Contest format of the 18th Tuoi Xanh Photography Contest for the 2024-2025 school year
[1] Preliminary Round
- Photos must be taken from June 1, 2024, to February 12, 2025 (other people's photos, collected photos, and composite photos are not allowed).
- Photos for the contest can be in color or black and white or monochrome but must not have entered any other contest. The submission deadline is February 15, 2025.
[2] Final Round
- Preliminary results will be announced on the Department of Education and Training's electronic portal. Students whose works are selected in the preliminary round will proceed to the final round, expected to be held on March 15, 2025.
- Produce and submit a photo series on-site according to the theme, photo quantity, and series structure as prescribed by the organizers. Diverse photo series are encouraged (close-ups, medium shots, and long shots).
Rules of the 18th Tuoi Xanh Photography Contest for the 2024-2025 school year
- Contestants can submit photos from January 1, 2025. The number of entries is unlimited. Entries can be single photos or photo series (5 to 12 photos).
- Encourage students to submit photos regularly (at least twice a month) to the website: chandungthanhphotoitugocnhintre.tuoitre.vn
- Photos submitted must comply with the following:
+ Submitted photos must be sent as digital files. The work's title should be in non-diacritic format (Example: A photo titled "thanhphotoiyeu" should be file-named thanhphotoiyeu.jpg).
+ Photos must be clear, with a minimum file size of 2 MB, in jpg format with 72 dpi resolution, with a minimum length of 1800 pixels.
+ Participants are only allowed to use specialized software to adjust brightness, contrast, and photo size. Framing, merging photos, deleting, or adding details is not allowed.
+ Photos must have a complete caption with a maximum of 100 words, including diacritics: Title of the work, where taken, when, what character or event, with a clear explanation of the photo's story (the author is responsible for information related to the photo).
Note:
- Legitimate entries are those that have not been published in newspapers and have not won prizes in other contests.
Photos must be taken with a digital camera or a smartphone, not exceeding 8 months from the submission date.
- The organizers have full rights to use submitted photos and photo series.
- Beautiful photos with suitable content for the contest will be featured in the Tuoi Xanh Photography Contest section of the Education page in Tuoi Tre Newspaper every Wednesday and Friday. These issues will be sent to schools in the City to be posted on the school's bulletin board. Authors will receive photo fees as per Tuoi Tre Newspaper regulations.
- Contest participants are responsible for sending original photo files upon the organizer's request for inspection or exhibition print. If the original file is not provided, the work will be deemed non-compliant and disqualified.
Prize structure of the 18th Tuoi Xanh Photography Contest for the 2024-2025 school year
The contest does not fall under the provisions regarding participants and incentives of Resolution No. 02/2021/NQ-HDND dated March 23, 2021, of the City Council.
The organizers will award commendations from the Director of the Department of Education and Training to the winning individuals.
Lower secondary level: 01 First Prize, 05 Second Prizes, 10 Third Prizes, 30 Consolation Prizes.
Upper secondary level: 01 First Prize, 05 Second Prizes, 10 Third Prizes, 30 Consolation Prizes.
Funding for Organizing the 18th Tuoi Xanh Photography Contest for the 2024-2025 school year
[1] Participating units are responsible for funding students and learners attending the final round and supporting teachers.
[2] Contest media funding: managed by Tuoi Tre Newspaper.
[3] Prize funding: sponsorship sources.
[4] Organization costs, Steering Committee, Organizing Committee, Examination Committee, Judging Committee, Secretariat, and service teams: budget sources.

Under Article 15 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT, the regulations on commendation for lower secondary school students in Vietnam are as follows:
1. Principals shall award certificates of achievement for students
- End-of-year commendation
+ Award the title “Học sinh Xuất sắc” (Excellent student) for students who have obtained Excellent training and learning results for the entire school year and achieved DTBmcn of at least 9.0 in subjects that are assessed via both feedback and scores.
+ Award the title “Học sinh Giỏi” (Good student) for students who have obtained Excellent training and learning results for the entire school year.
- Commend students for having unexpected merits in training and learning in the school year.
2. Students with special achievements shall be considered and requested for commendation by schools.
