Requirements to Achieve Knowledge About Argumentative Texts in Grade 12 Literature in Vietnam
Based on the General Education Program for Grade 12 Literature issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the requirements to achieve knowledge about argumentative texts in Grade 12 Literature are as follows:
Understanding Content
- Recognize and analyze the content of the thesis, the arguments, the main and unique evidence in the text; point out their connections; assess the appropriateness between the argumentative content and the title of the text.
- Be able to receive and critically evaluate content; recognize the purpose.
Understanding Form
- Analyze and evaluate how the author uses some argumentative techniques (for example, proving, explaining, commenting, comparing, analyzing, or refuting) in the text to achieve the purpose.
- Analyze rhetorical measures, words, affirming and negating sentences in the argumentative text and evaluate the effectiveness of using these forms.
- Recognize and analyze the roles of argumentation and expressive language in the argumentative text.
Connecting, Comparing, and Connecting
- Be able to evaluate and critique the text based on the reader's experiences and viewpoints.
Extensive Reading
- Within a school year, read at least 9 argumentative texts (including some texts guided for online reading) with lengths equivalent to the texts studied.

Evaluation Methods for Grade 12 Literature in Vietnam
