FEATURES OF THE SUBJECT
History & Geography at the primary level is a compulsory subject, taught in grades 4 and 5. The subject is developed on the inheritance and development from the Nature and Society subject of grades 1, 2, 3 and serves as a foundation for studying History & Geography at the lower secondary education level, while also laying the groundwork for social sciences education in higher education levels. The subject contributes to forming and developing in students the primary qualities and general competencies as defined in the overall curriculum.
The History & Geography curriculum at the primary level includes foundational and essential strands of knowledge and skills about the geography and history of the locality, regions, Vietnam, neighboring countries, and some basic aspects of world geography and history.
