On December 3, 2024, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs issued Notification 6150/TB-BLDTBXH of 2024 concerning the number of days off for the National Day Holiday on September 2, 2025 applicable to Vietnamese officials, public employees, and employees as follows:

- For officials and public employees: They are entitled to the National Day Holiday 2025 from Saturday, August 30, 2025, to the end of Tuesday, September 2, 2025, according to the Gregorian calendar.

This holiday includes 2 days off for National Day and 2 weekend days.

- For employees: Employers can decide on the National Day Holiday 2025 to be on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, according to the Gregorian calendar and choose 1 of the 2 days: either Monday, September 1, 2025, or Wednesday, September 3, 2025, according to the Gregorian calendar.

What are the regulations on salaries paid to upper secondary school teachers working during the National Day Holiday 2025 in Vietnam?

According to Article 98 of the Labor Code 2019:

Overtime pay, night work pay

1. An employee who works overtime will be paid an amount based on the piece rate or actual salary as follows:

a) On normal days: at least 150%;

b) On weekly days off: at least 200%;

c) During public holidays, paid leave, at least 300%, not including the daily salary during the public holidays or paid leave for employees receiving daily salaries.

2. An employee who works at night will be paid an additional amount of at least 30% of the normal salary.

3. An employee who works overtime at night will be paid, in addition to the salary specified in Clause 1 and Clause 2 of this Article, an amount of at least 20% of the day work salary of a normal day, weekend or public holiday.

4. The Government shall elaborate this Article.

The salaries paid to upper secondary school teachers working during the National Day Holiday 2025 in Vietnam are specified as follows:

- Working during the day: Receive at least 400% of salary.

- Working at night: Receive at least 490% of salary.

- Force students to take extra classes for money; take advantage of educational sponsorship or assistance to forcibly extract cash or kind contributions.

- Smoke or consume alcohol or other stimulants while participating in teaching or educational activities.

- Hinder support given to teaching or educational activities and other activities.

What are the duties of Grade III upper secondary school teachers in Vietnam?

According to Clause 1, Article 3 of Circular 04/2021/TT-BGDDT, the duties of Grade III upper secondary school teachers in Vietnam include:

- Developing educational plans for the assigned subject and participating in crafting educational plans of the specialized department according to the high school education objectives and programs.

- Performing tasks related to organizing teaching and educational activities according to the school's educational plan and the specialized department's plan; managing students in educational activities organized by the school.

- Conducting activities for assessing and evaluating students' learning and training results according to regulations.

- Organizing psychological counseling, career orientation, and entrepreneurship activities for students and parents of the assigned class.

- Participating in identifying and nurturing students with talents, coaching excellent students, tutoring underperforming students at the high school level, or guiding pedagogical internships and social work activities for high school students.

- Participating in activities of the specialized department; engaging in scientific research; completing the management documentation system for educational activities according to regulations; executing inclusive education tasks within the assigned scope; participating in organizing competitions (for teachers or students) from school level onwards.

- Completing training courses and professional development programs as regulated; self-learning and self-improving to enhance professional and administrative capabilities.

- Performing other tasks assigned by the principal.
