Under Article 1 of Decision 2045/QD-BGDDT of 2024, the schedule for students' 1st-semester exams in the academic year 2024 - 2025 is as follows:
Issuance of the framework for the 2024-2025 academic year plan for preschool, general education, and continuing education nationwide:
1. The earliest school opening date is set 1 week before the official commencement ceremony. For first graders, the earliest start date is 2 weeks prior to the commencement ceremony.
2. The commencement ceremony is organized on September 05, 2024.
3. The first semester ends before January 18, 2025, and the school year is completed before May 31, 2025.
4. The recognition of completion of primary education and graduation from lower secondary education is conducted before June 30, 2025.
5. Enrollment for the first classes of all educational levels is completed before July 31, 2025.
6. The national high school exam 2025 is scheduled to take place on June 26 and June 27, 2025.
7. Other national-level exams are organized as per the Ministry of Education and Training’s guidelines and regulations.
Under the above regulation, the first semester ends before January 18, 2025, and the school year is completed before May 31, 2025.
Thus, according to the above regulations, the recognition of completion of primary education and graduation from lower secondary education is conducted before June 30, 2025.

What is the educational plan for the 2024-2025 academic year concerning the study period of primary school students in Vietnam?
Under Section 4 of the General Education Program issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the educational plan for the academic year 2024 - 2025 regarding the study period of students at different levels is as follows:
The general education program is divided into two phases:
The basic education phase (grades 1 to 9) and the career-oriented education phase (grades 10 to 12).
The system of subjects and educational activities of the general education program consists of compulsory subjects and educational activities, elective subjects according to career orientation (shortened as elective subjects), and optional subjects.
The real learning time in one academic year is approximately 35 weeks. Educational institutions can organize learning 1 session/day or 2 sessions/day.
Educational institutions organizing 1 session/day and 2 sessions/day must implement the mandatory unified educational content for all educational institutions nationwide.
(1). Basic education phase
- Primary level
Teaching is conducted 2 sessions/day, with no more than 7 periods per day; each period is 35 minutes. Educational institutions not meeting the conditions for 2 sessions/day will follow the educational plan as guided by the Ministry of Education and Training.
