List of 18 universities in Vietnam using V SAT Exam results for admission in 2025
V SAT is an exam organized under the leadership of the participating universities, with the National Testing Center and Educational Quality Assessment (Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam) as the coordinating and supporting body, providing the question bank.
The V SAT exam covers 7 independent subjects, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, History, Geography. In 2025, it will include Literature with a format combining objective multiple-choice and computer-based essay writing.

What are the basic principles of university admissions in Vietnam?
According to Article 4 of the Regulation on university admissions and college admissions in preschool education issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the basic principles of admissions are stipulated as follows:
(1) Fairness to Candidates
- Regarding information provision: Each interested candidate is provided with full, clear, reliable, consistent, and promptly information to make suitable decisions and best prepare for the admissions process;
- Regarding application opportunities: No candidate loses the opportunity to apply due to requirements unrelated to qualifications or abilities (except for specific provisions by the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Defense in foreign affairs, security); or due to cumbersome and costly admissions processes;
- Regarding competency assessment: Candidates must be assessed objectively, fairly, and reliably in terms of learning ability and prospects for success, meeting the requirements of the program and field of study;
- Regarding admission opportunities: Candidates must be given the highest admission opportunities and the right to determine preferred aspirations among programs and fields of study they are eligible for;
- Regarding compliance with commitments: Training institutions must fulfill their commitments to candidates, provide advice, support, and resolve complaints, protecting the legitimate rights of candidates in risk situations.
(2) Equality among Training Institutions
- Regarding cooperation: Training institutions cooperate equally to enhance the quality and efficiency of admissions, bringing the best benefits to candidates;
- Regarding competition: Training institutions compete honestly, fairly, and healthily in admissions according to the legal regulations on competition.
(3) Transparency to Society
- Regarding information transparency: Training institutions are responsible for publicly announcing admissions information clearly, fully, and promptly through suitable media for social and state management entities to monitor;
- Regarding accountability: Training institutions must report as required by state management entities and account to society suitably for major issues causing public concern.
What are the subjects and conditions for university admission in Vietnam
Pursuant to Article 5 of the Regulation on university admissions and college admissions in preschool education issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the subjects and conditions for university admission are stipulated as follows:
(1) Admission Subjects
Admission subjects are determined at the time of enrollment evaluation (before the official announcement of results), including:
- Persons recognized as having graduated from a Vietnamese high school or possessing a foreign degree equivalent to the Vietnamese high school diploma;
- Persons holding a vocational secondary education diploma in the same field and have completed the required high school level academic credits as prescribed by law.
(2) Admission Conditions
- Meeting the admission benchmark according to the provisions of Article 9 of the Regulation on university admissions and college admissions in preschool education issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT;
- Being in good health to study as per current regulations;
- Providing complete personal information and required admission documents.
Additionally, regarding a training program or a training field applying multiple admission methods, training institutions may specifically stipulate admission subjects and conditions for each method but must comply with the principles set out in point b, clause 1, Article 4 of the Regulation on university admissions and college admissions in preschool education issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT.
For candidates with disabilities affecting their learning capabilities, training institutions shall take necessary measures and provide the best conditions for candidates to apply and pursue suitable fields of study considering their health conditions.
