What are regulations on characteristics of the experiential activities subject for grade 8 in Vietnam?
Based on the Appendix to the General Education Program for Experiential Activities and Career Guidance issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the characteristics of the experiential activities subject for grade 8 in Vietnam are as follows:
Experiential activities (primary level) and experiential activities, career guidance (lower and upper secondary levels) are mandatory education activities implemented from grades 1 to 12.
Experiential activities and experiential activities, career guidance are educational activities guided, designed, and instructed by educators, offering students opportunities to approach reality, experience positive emotions, leverage existing experiences, and integrate knowledge and skills from various subjects to complete assigned tasks or solve practical issues in school, family, and society suitable to their age;
Through such activities, students transform experienced knowledge into new understanding, skills, and competences that foster creativity and adaptability to life, the environment, and future careers.
Experiential activities and experiential activities, career guidance contribute to forming and developing essential qualities, common competencies, and specialized competencies for students;
Activity content is structured based on students' relationships with themselves, society, nature, and career paths.
The content of experiential activities and experiential activities, career guidance is divided into two phases: basic education phase and career-oriented education phase.
- Basic education phase:
At the primary level, experiential activities focus on self-discovery, self-discipline activities, developing relationships with friends, teachers, and family members. Social activities and exploring professions familiar to students are also organized in age-appropriate content and forms.
At the middle school level, experiential activities and career guidance focus more on social activities, nature-oriented activities, and career-oriented activities, while self-focused activities continue to develop students' qualities and competencies.
- Career-oriented education phase:
Besides individual, social, and nature-oriented activities, the content of experiential activities and career guidance at the high school level focuses more on career education activities to develop career-orientation competencies.
Through career guidance activities, students are assessed and self-assess their skills, strengths, and interests related to careers, serving as a basis for selecting suitable career paths and cultivating qualities and competencies adaptable to future careers.
