5. Dien Bien Phu Victory Day (May 7, 1954).

6. President Ho Chi Minh's Birthday (May 19, 1890).

7. August Revolution Day (August 19, 1945) and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945).

How many days does the September 2 holiday for schools in Vietnam last?

According to Notice 5015/TB-LDTBXH 2023 from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to administrative agencies, public service entities, political organizations, socio-political organizations, enterprises, and other employers, it stipulates the Lunar New Year holiday and National Day holiday schedule in 2024 as follows:

1. Officials and public employees and employees of administrative agencies, public service entities, political organizations, socio-political organizations (hereinafter referred to as officials and public employees) will have a Lunar New Year holiday in 2024 from Thursday, February 8, 2024 (solar calendar) (i.e., December 29 of Quy Mao year in the lunar calendar) until the end of Wednesday, February 14, 2024 (solar calendar) (i.e., January 5 of Giap Thin year in the lunar calendar). This period includes 5 Lunar New Year holidays and 2 compensatory days for weekly holidays as stipulated in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.

2. Officials, public employees will have a National Day holiday in 2024 from Saturday, August 31, 2024, until the end of Tuesday, September 3, 2024 (solar calendar). This holiday includes 2 National Day holidays and 2 weekly holidays.

3. Agencies and units implementing the Lunar New Year holiday and National Day holiday in 2024 should arrange and organize work to ensure continuous processing of work, well-served for organizations and the people.

4. Agencies and entities not implementing a fixed weekly day off schedule on Saturdays and Sundays will arrange their holiday schedule based on their specific programs and plans.

5. For employees not falling under the category specified in Clause 1 of this Notification, employers will decide the appropriate Lunar New Year and National Day holiday schedules in 2024 as follows:

- For Lunar New Year: choose 1 day at the end of the Quy Mao year and 4 days at the beginning of the Giap Thin year, or 2 days at the end of the Quy Mao year and 3 days at the beginning of the Giap Thin year, or 3 days at the end of the Quy Mao year and 2 days at the beginning of the Giap Thin year.

- For National Day holiday: Monday, September 2, 2024 (solar calendar), and choose one of these days: Sunday, September 1, 2024, or Tuesday, September 3, 2024, (solar calendar).

- Notify employees about the Lunar New Year and National Day holiday schedule in 2024 at least 30 days before implementation.

- If the weekly day off coincides with a holiday or Lunar New Year as specified in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code, employees will get compensatory leaves for the weekly holiday on the next working day as stipulated in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.

- Encourage employers to apply the same Lunar New Year holiday duration for employees as stipulated for officials and public employees.
