According to Announcement 2988/TB-SGDDT in 2024 DOWNLOAD regarding the exam format for the Grade 10 Entrance Exam for High Schools in Hanoi City according to the 2018 General Education Program, the Informatics Entrance Exam will be in the form of multiple-choice questions as follows:

*Note:

- Part I includes multiple-choice questions with 04 options, choose 01 correct answer.

- Part II includes True/False multiple-choice questions. Each question has 04 items. For each item a), b), c), d) in each question, the student chooses true or false.

- Part III includes short-answer multiple-choice questions. Students fill in the corresponding boxes with their answers.

***Scoring for multiple-choice exams, including Informatics, is as follows:

* Multiple-choice

- Multiple-choice questions with multiple options (Part I): Each correct answer earns 0.25 points.

- True/False multiple-choice questions (Part II):

The maximum score for 01 question is 1.0 points, in which:

+ Choosing exactly 01 correct item in 01 question earns 0.1 points;

+ Choosing exactly 02 correct items in 01 question earns 0.25 points;

+ Choosing exactly 03 correct items in 01 question earns 0.5 points;

Choosing exactly 04 correct items in 01 question earns 1.0 points.

- Short-answer multiple-choice questions (Part III): Each correct answer earns 0.25 points.

- Maximum total score for the entire exam: 10 points.

Implementing several contents regarding the Grade 10 Entrance Exam in Hanoi City

On August 29, 2024, the Department of Education and Training announced the exam format for the Grade 10 Entrance Exam for High Schools in Hanoi City according to the 2018 General Education Program in Announcement 2988/TB-SGDDT in 2024 DOWNLOAD

Therein, the Department of Education and Training requests heads of the Education and Training Departments of various districts, district-level towns to direct secondary schools in the area to implement the following contents:

[1] Inform all school staff, teachers, and students about the exam format for the Grade 10 Entrance Exam for High Schools in Hanoi City according to the 2018 General Education Program.

[2] Direct professional groups and teams to study and apply the appropriate exam format for each subject, focusing on multiple-choice formats for grade 9 secondary school students to familiarize themselves with; strengthening multiple-choice formats including: multiple choice with 04 options selecting 01 correct answer; True/False multiple choice (each question with 04 items, choose true or false for each item); short-answer multiple choice.

[3] Enhance the development of question banks, test matrices according to the subject program requirements; prepare grade 9 students to familiarize themselves with the exam orientation for the Grade 10 Entrance Exam for High Schools according to the 2018 General Education Program.

Encourage schools in the area to build a Digital Library of test papers, surveys to share with educational institutions in the area to exchange, study, and effectively implement testing and assessment methods.

[4] Research and implement the use of materials in test papers and surveys to ensure conformity.

For the subject Literature, avoid using texts or excerpts already studied in textbooks as materials for testing reading comprehension and writing skills in periodic tests to prevent students from merely memorizing lessons or copying available materials.

Responsibilities of the Department of Education and Training in the Grade 10 Entrance Exam for High Schools in Vietnam

Based on Article 10 of the Admission Regulations for secondary and high school enrollment issued with Circular 11/2014/TT-BGDDT (some contents repealed by Article 2 of Circular 05/2018/TT-BGDDT), the responsibilities of the Department of Education and Training in the Grade 10 Entrance Exam for High Schools are as follows:

- Develop an admission plan, submit it to the provincial People's Committee for approval, including the following main contents: area, method, target, preferential and encouragement policies, organization of the high school admission.

For localities choosing the examination method or combining examination and selection, additional contents are required:

+ Subjects, exam setting, exam format, test duration, score coefficient, additional points;

+ Organization, duties and activities, rights and responsibilities of the examination council, invigilation council, marking council, re-examination council; exam setting, printing, and delivery of the exam.

- Guide the admission process for Education and Training Departments and high schools.

- Issue decisions to establish admission councils; decide on the approval of the admission results of each high school. Accept the documents from the admission councils, invigilation councils, marking councils.

- Organize inspection, supervision of the admission process for secondary and high schools.

- Archive admission records as prescribed by law.

- Perform regularly scheduled and annual reporting or special reporting on the admission process to the provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training.
