According to point c, clause 1, Article 4 of Circular 62/2023/TT-BCA stipulating health standards in the recruitment of citizens into the People's Public Security, and the consideration for professional service policies for duty officers completing their service term in the People's Public Security:

- General standards
Citizens participating in the recruitment into the People's Public Security, and duty officers completing their service term in the People's Public Security being considered for professional service policies are recognized as meeting health standards if they fulfill the following:
a) Have Type 1 or Type 2 health classification;
b) Height ranges from 1.64m to 1.95m for males, from 1.58m to 1.80m for females, unless specific cases allow for height standard reduction as defined in clauses 2 and 3 of this Article;
c) Unaided visual acuity of each eye must be between 09-10/10, with a combined visual acuity of the two eyes being 18/10 or higher. If the eyes have refractive errors: myopia, farsightedness, then each eye cannot exceed 03 (three) diopters; in case of astigmatism, it must be physiological astigmatism or each eye below 01 (one) diopter; one-eye visual acuity through glasses must be at least 09/10, combined visual acuity of both eyes through glasses must be from 19/10 or higher (candidates must ensure compliance with visual acuity standards as specified if selected for recruitment into the People's Public Security and consideration for professional service policies in the People's Public Security), unless defined in point b, clause 3 of this Article;
d) Meet specific indicators as prescribed in Article 6 of this Circular.

One of the general health standards in recruitment into the People's Public Security Academy is that for nearsighted eyes, each eye should not exceed 03 (three) diopters.
Therefore, candidates with myopia can still apply to the People's Public Security Academy as long as each eye does not exceed 03 (three) diopters.

What are the special indicators for candidates applying to the Public Security Academy in Vietnam?
According to clause 1, Article 6 of Circular 62/2023/TT-BCA, the specific indicators for candidates applying to the Public Security Academy are as follows:
- Not addicted to drugs or precursors as prescribed in Decree 57/2022/ND-CP;
- Normal hair color and form (as per the People's Public Security regulations);
- No pigment disorders, except for localized pigmentation on the cheeks;
- No pierced holes in the nose or other body parts for wearing jewelry. For males, no pierced holes in the ears or if there are, they must have healed into scars; for females, no more than 02 pierced holes on one ear or only 01 pierced hole on the ear, with other holes healed into scars;
- No protruding scars on the head, face, neck, forearm, hands, feet;
- No tattoos or dermal markers, except for cosmetic tattoos like eyebrow or lip tattoos for females.
Who are the members of the preliminary health examination committee and the re-examination committee for new recruitment exams into the Public Security Academy in Vietnam?
According to Article 9 of Circular 62/2023/TT-BCA, the membership of the preliminary health examination committee and the re-examination committee for new recruitment into the Public Security Academy is defined as follows:
(1). Preliminary health examination committee for new recruitment
The Chairman of the Recruitment Council decides on the establishment, duties, and powers of the preliminary health examination committee for new recruitment. The members include:
- 01 Chairman: Director of the hospital, Head of the Health Department, or Head of the Medical Station of the Public Security units or localities;
- 01 Vice Chairman: Deputy Director of the hospital, Deputy Head of the Health Department, or Deputy Head of the Medical Station of the Public Security units or localities;
- Members: Representatives of the leadership, officer staff of the personnel organization unit; representatives of leadership and medical staff from the Public Security units or localities;
- Secretary: Hospital staff, health department staff, or medical station staff with professional medical knowledge;
- The preliminary health examination committee for new recruitment consists of 03 - 05 doctors, including at least 01 internal medicine doctor and 01 surgical doctor.
(2). Re-examination committee for new recruitment
The Chairman of the Admissions Council of the People's Public Security Academy decides on the establishment, duties, and powers of the re-examination committee for new recruitment. The members include:
- 01 Chairman: Head of the Health Department or Head of the Medical Station of the People's Public Security Academy;
- 01 Vice Chairman: Deputy Head of the Health Department or Deputy Head of the Medical Station of the People's Public Security Academy;
- Members: Representatives of the Logistics Department leadership, representatives of leadership from the Training and Superior Training Department or equivalent responsible for admissions, team leaders or officers directly involved in admissions, medical department staff, or medical station staff with professional medical knowledge from the People's Public Security Academy;
- Secretary: Medical department staff or medical station staff with professional medical knowledge;
- The re-examination committee for new recruitment consists of 03 - 05 doctors, including at least 01 internal medicine doctor and 01 surgical doctor.
