Enrollment in atheletic aptitude high schools

1. Enrollment plan.

a) Local atheletic aptitude high schools: The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism is responsible for creating the plan, enrollment procedure, and enrollment targets, in coordination and agreement with the Department of Education and Training to present to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for approval.

b) Atheletic aptitude high schools under Ministries and Departments: The Principal prepares the plan to be submitted to the Ministry for approval, along with the enrollment procedure and targets as per regulations.

2. Enrollment criteria.

Students aged 6 to 15 who have completed the educational program according to their age and appropriate educational level as regulated; have good health, physique, ethics, and academic performance from average level upwards; have talent in physical education and sports and wish to develop their sports talents to contribute to the national sports cause ; upon consent from their family, and if they meet the standard conditions as regulated, are eligible to take the entrance exam to the atheletic aptitude high schools according to their favorite sports.

Thus, in principle, students aged 6 to 15 who have completed the educational program according to their age and appropriate educational level as regulated; with good health, physique, ethics, and academic performance from average level upwards; having talent in physical education and sports and wishing to develop their sports talents for the national sports cause with family consent, are eligible to take the entrance exam to the atheletic aptitude high schools according to their favorite sports under the regulations.

Additional note: Students entering secondary education must have a confirmation of completing the primary education program; Students entering upper secondary school must have a lower secondary school diploma.

Based on Clause 3, Article 9 of the organization and operation regulations of atheletic aptitude high schools issued with Circular 07/2021/TT-BGDDT:

Evaluation, classification, promotion, and completion of studies at atheletic aptitude high schools

1. Evaluation, classification, promotion, transfer, and entrance exam for universities, colleges, and intermediate schools for students of atheletic aptitude high schools are conducted according to the same regulations as for students of other schools.

2. Evaluation, classification of proficiency in physical education and sports.

a) Regular evaluation and classification of proficiency in physical education and sports for talented students is directly conducted by the teacher of the talent subject.

b) Periodic evaluation and classification are conducted directly by the talent teacher and the Evaluation Council according to the school's general plan. The Evaluation Council is decided by the Principal.

3. Students of atheletic aptitude high schools sent for long-term training or competitions who cannot ensure the time, content, and grades for cultural subjects are provided with additional teaching and evaluation by the school to ensure they complete the curricular content as regulated.

d) Have a medical department with a team of physicians and healthcare staff meeting professional requirements, equipped with medical equipment to ensure healthcare, functional recovery, and initial injury treatment during training as regulated.
