From January 06 to February 07, 1930, the conference to unify communist organizations to establish the Communist Party of Vietnam was held on the Cuu Long Peninsula. The conference agreed to unify the communist organizations to form a party, named the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The conference adopted documents including Brief Program, Brief Strategy, Summary Program, Brief Regulations of the Communist Party, and an Appeal by Comrade Nguyen Ai Quoc on behalf of the Communist International and the Communist Party of Vietnam sent to the workers, peasants, soldiers, youth, students, and all oppressed and exploited compatriots on the occasion of the founding of the Communist Party.

Although the conference took place from January 06 to February 07, the Third National Representative Congress of the Communist Party (in September 1960) resolved to take February 3 each year as the day to commemorate the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

What are the conditions for admission to the Communist Party of Vietnam for students in Vietnam?

Under Section 1 of Regulation 24-QD/TW of 2021, the age and qualification of individuals joining the Communist Party of Vietnam are specified as follows:

Age and qualification of individuals joining the Communist Party of Vietnam

1.1. Regarding age.

1.1.1. At the time of consideration for admission by the CPV cell, individuals joining the Communist Party of Vietnam must be from 18 to 60 years old (calculated by month).

1.1.2. Admission to the Communist Party of Vietnam for those over 60 years old is considered and decided by the Central CPV Committee.

1.2. Regarding qualification.

1.2.1. Individuals joining the Communist Party of Vietnam must have a lower secondary diploma or higher.

1.2.2. The qualification required for individuals from mountainous areas, islands, ethnic minority areas, particularly disadvantaged areas, and specific other cases according to CPV development needs that do not meet general regulations shall follow the Secretariat's guidelines.

Simultaneously, according to Clause 2, Article 1 of the Charter of the Communist Party of Vietnam 2011 regarding communist party members:

Vietnamese citizens aged eighteen or older; who acknowledge and voluntarily: adhere to the Political Platform, the Charter of the Communist Party of Vietnam, standards and responsibilities of communist party members, operate within a grassroots-level CPV organization; proven to be outstanding through practice, trusted by the people, may be considered for admission to the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Thus, students can be admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam if they meet the following conditions:

- Be aged 18 or older (calculated by month).

- Have a lower secondary diploma or higher.

- Acknowledge and voluntarily: adhere to the Political Platform, the Charter of the Communist Party of Vietnam, standards and responsibilities of communist party members, and operate within a grassroots-level CPV organization.

- Be outstanding proven through practice, and trusted by the people.

- The qualification required for individuals from mountainous areas, islands, ethnic minority areas, particularly disadvantaged areas, and specific other cases according to CPV development needs that do not meet general regulations shall follow the Secretariat's guidelines
