Handling Violations

1. Staff and candidates who commit violations during the exam organization process will be handled according to the regulations of the High School Graduation Exam Regulation by the Ministry of Education and Training.

2. Candidates who commit fraud during the registration or examination process to get admitted; depending on the severity, may be expelled from school, banned from applying to training institutions in the subsequent years, or subject to criminal prosecution under the law.

3. Individuals who violate this Regulation and are officials and public employees will, depending on the severity, be handled by the managing authority under Article 71 of the Law on Higher Education; the Law on Public Employees, the Law on Cadres and Civil Servants, and legal documents on disciplinary handling of public employees and officials.

4. Individuals who violate this Regulation and are staff, lecturers, teachers, or full-time employees of private training institutions but not officials or public employees, will be handled by the institution's head under the Labor Code and related legal documents.

5. Training institutions that violate admission policies will, depending on the severity, be subject to handling under current legal regulations. The principal, the chairman of the admission council, and other related individuals of the violating institution will also be subject to related legal regulations.

6. The admission regulation of the training institution details the handling of violations against individuals and organizations involved in admission work.

Therefore, candidates who commit fraud during the registration process will be handled as follows: depending on the severity, they may be expelled from school, banned from applying to training institutions in the subsequent years, or subject to criminal prosecution under the law.

How many options of majors are candidates allowed register for in Vietnam?

Based on Article 19 of the University Admission, College Admission in Early Childhood Education Regulation issued together with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT on registration according to the general plan, as follows:

Registration according to the general plan

The Ministry of Education and Training supports the organization of the registration for the first round of regular training for all admission methods of training institutions. The registration period starts after the High School Graduation Exam and ends after the exam results and graduation results are available.

2. Candidates registering for the first round of regular training (including those who have registered according to the early admission plan of the training institution) will register on the system (via the Admission Information Portal of the Ministry of Education and Training or through the National Service Portal) according to the general plan and guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training.

3. Candidates may register for multiple fields in various institutions without limitation but must arrange preferences in descending order. If multiple preferences qualify for admission, candidates will only be recognized and called for enrollment according to the highest priority preference.

4. Candidates shall express their preferences via the options on the admission support system (as guided by the Ministry of Education and Training) as follows:

a) The order of priority of preferences (number 1 indicates the highest preference);

b) Choosing the training institution or admission unit (institution code);

c) Choosing the field, group of fields, training program (field code);

d) Choosing the admission method (method code);

e) Choosing the selection examination (combination code) for methods based on examination results or academic performance in high school subjects.

Based on Article 10 of the University Admission, College Admission in Early Childhood Education Regulation issued together with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT on deferring admission results, as follows:

Deferring Admission Results

1. Candidates who have received an admission notice can defer their admission results in the following cases:

a) Performing military service or joining youth volunteer forces immediately in the year of admission as per the decision or order of the competent authority;

b) Suffering from a severe illness or a serious accident, preventing timely enrollment, with medical records and confirmation from a competent medical authority.

2. Candidates in the cases stated in clause 1 must send a deferment request along with supporting documents to the training institution calling for enrollment. The maximum time allowed for deferment is as stipulated by the training institution but not less than three years for those specified in point a, clause 1 of this Article.

3. Immediately upon being eligible to return to studies, the person with deferred admission must follow the enrollment procedures as stipulated by the training institution and provide evidence of completing their tasks or recovery from treatment. For those under clause 1 with a deferment period of three years or more, the training institution may recommend enrolling in preparatory classes before official enrollment.

Therefore, candidates who have received an admission notice but suffer a serious accident can defer their admission results but must have medical records and confirmation from a competent medical authority.
