Pursuant to Article 4 of the regulations on working policies for general education teachers issued together with Circular 28/2009/TT-BGDDT:

Duties of class homeroom teachers

In addition to the duties for teachers stipulated in Article 3 of this Regulation, class homeroom teachers have the following duties:

  1. Understanding and grasping all aspects of the students in the class to organize appropriate educational measures tailored to each individual to promote the progress of each student and the entire class;
  1. Coordinating closely with the student's family, proactively cooperating with subject teachers, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization, the unions and other related social organizations in teaching and educating students in their class;
  1. Evaluating, grading and classifying students at the end of the semester and school year, recommending commendations and disciplinary actions for students, proposing the list of students promoted to the next grade, students required to retake tests, students needing additional conduct training during summer vacation, students repeating a grade, and completing records in the grade book and student records;
  1. Participating in guiding collective activities, educational and training activities for students organized by the school;
  1. Reporting regularly or unexpectedly on the class's situation to the Principal.

Thus, the duties for homeroom teachers in ethnic minority boarding upper secondary schools include:

* Duties as stipulated in Article 16 of the Regulation on the organization and operation of ethnic minority boarding schools issued together with Circular 04/2023/TT-BGDDT include:

- Complying with the assignments of the principal and vice-principal in organizing and performing the tasks of ethnic minority boarding schools.

- Educating the policies of the Communist Party and the State on ethnic work for ethnic minority boarding students.

- Understanding the culture, language, customs, practices, and psychological characteristics of ethnic minority students in the locality.

- Applying teaching methods, organizing teaching and evaluating students suitably for ethnic minority boarding students, ensuring the required qualities and competencies of students as stipulated; participating in student care, management outside of class hours, and organizing specific educational activities; tutoring and coaching students; guiding students in self-study.

* Other duties:
