Based on Article 4 of the Regulation on specialized classrooms at general education institutions promulgated together with Circular 14/2020/TT-BGDDT:

Specialized classrooms

  1. Types of specialized classrooms

a) Primary schools have specialized classrooms: Science - Technology (shared for subjects: Natural and Social Sciences, Science, Technology), Informatics, Foreign Languages, Music, Art, Multifunctional;

b) Lower secondary schools have specialized classrooms: Natural Sciences, Technology, Informatics, Foreign Languages, Music, Art, Multifunctional, Social Sciences (shared for subjects: Civic Education, History, and Geography);

c) Upper secondary schools have specialized classrooms: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technology, Informatics, Foreign Languages, Music, Art, Multifunctional, Social Sciences (shared for subjects: History, Geography, Economics and Law Education);

d) General schools with multiple levels of education shall determine the specialized classrooms based on the provisions at point a, b, and c, clause 1 of this Article. specialized classrooms in general schools with multiple levels of education are arranged separately for each level, except for rooms that can be shared for certain subjects, ensuring the requirements of content, method, and form of teaching organization.

According to the above regulations, lower secondary schools at general education institutions have the following specialized classrooms: Natural Sciences, Technology, Informatics, Foreign Languages, Music, Art, Multifunctional, Social Sciences (shared for subjects: Civic Education, History, and Geography).

What are regulations on lighting systems, soundproofing, and electrical engineering in educational institutions in Vietnam?

The lighting systems, soundproofing, and electrical engineering of general education institutions are regulated in Article 12 of the Regulation on specialized classrooms of general education institutions, promulgated together with Circular 14/2020/TT-BGDDT as follows:

- Natural lighting in specialized classrooms must adhere to current lighting standards. Room windows must meet the requirements for natural lighting, ensure ventilation, shield from cold winds, driving rain, direct sunlight, and be convenient and safe in use, easy to clean.

- Artificial lighting in specialized classrooms:

+ The artificial lighting system in specialized classrooms adheres to the requirements stipulated in the National Technical Standards on Lighting - Permitted lighting levels for workplaces;

+ A mixed lighting system must be applied in specialized classrooms (uniform lighting and specific lighting). The lighting power density must correspond to the function of each type of specialized classroom as stipulated in the National Technical Standards on Lighting - Permitted lighting levels for workplaces.

- The Music specialized classroom is designed to be soundproof to prevent noise from affecting adjacent areas.

- specialized classrooms are equipped with a 220V alternating current electrical system to fulfill the requirements for experiments and practice. Additionally, specialized classrooms for Natural Sciences, Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology are equipped with both direct current and alternating current systems with an adjustable output voltage from 0-24V/2A. Electrical sockets equipped in the specialized classrooms must ensure protection against electric shock and water.
