1. Class Parent Teacher Committee.

a) Each class has a Parent Teacher Committee consisting of 3 to 5 members, including a head and a deputy head.

b) Members of the Class Parent Teacher Committee are enthusiastic individuals, responsible for cooperating with the homeroom teacher, subject teachers, the school, and representing parents in the class to carry out student education activities.

What are the duties and rights of the class's Parent Teacher Committee in Vietnam?

Based on Article 4 of the Regulation on the Parent Teacher Committee issued with Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT, the duties and rights of the Class Parent Teacher Committee are as follows:

Duties of the Class Parent Teacher Committee:

- Collaborate with the homeroom teacher and subject teachers to organize student education activities;

- Coordinate with the homeroom teacher to prepare the content of parent meetings during the academic year;

- Participate in teaching ethics to students; foster and encourage excellent students, assist struggling students, motivate drop-out students to return to continue education; assist poor students, disabled students, and students with other difficult circumstances.

Rights of the Class Parent Teacher Committee:

- Decide to convene parent meetings according to regulations (except the meeting at the beginning of the academic year to elect the Class Parent Teacher Committee) after agreeing with the homeroom teacher;

- Organize to gather opinions of class parents regarding measures to manage and educate students to make specific recommendations to the homeroom teacher and subject teachers on methods to improve the quality of ethical education and teaching quality;

- Collaborate to organize extracurricular educational activities, traditional education, cultural, artistic, and sports activities after agreeing with the homeroom teacher to achieve comprehensive educational goals for students.

How many parent meetings are held annually in Vietnam?

Based on Article 9 of the Regulation on the Parent Teacher Committee issued with Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT, the activities of parents and the Parent Teacher Committee are as follows:

Activities of Parents and the Parent Teacher Committee

1. Meetings of all parents:

a) At the beginning of the academic year, the homeroom teacher organizes a meeting of all parents to elect the Class Parent Teacher Committee with the number of members specified in Point a, Clause 1, Article 3 of this Regulation. During the academic year, organize meetings of all class parents three times: At the beginning of the academic year, at the end of the first semester, and at the end of the academic year, and organize extraordinary meetings when at least 50% of the class parents request;

b) Whether or not to organize a meeting of all school parents is decided by the School Parent Teacher Committee.

Thus, there are three meetings of all parents each year: at the beginning of the academic year, at the end of the first semester, and at the end of the academic year, and extraordinary meetings are organized when at least 50% of the class parents request.
