How many weeks are there in the two semesters of the 2024-2025 academic year in Vietnam?
Based on Article 2 of Decision 2045/QD-BGDDT in 2024:
Principles for structuring the academic calendar of localities
1. The academic calendar for localities must ensure 35 actual learning weeks (semester I has 18 weeks, semester II has 17 weeks).
2. The academic calendar must be appropriate to the features and practical conditions of the locality.
3. Holidays and Tet are implemented according to the regulations of the Labor Code and annual instructional documents.
4. Teachers' annual leave is taken during summer breaks or may be arranged at other times during the year to suit specific characteristics and the locality's academic calendar.
5. The academic calendar needs to ensure uniformity for all educational levels in an area, especially in schools with multiple educational levels.
According to the regulation, the school year 2024-2025 lasts 35 weeks, with 18 weeks in semester 1 and 17 weeks in semester 2.
However, the academic calendar must be appropriate to the characteristics and practical conditions of the locality.
Thus, a total of 35 weeks will make up the two semesters of the 2024-2025 school year, however, there may be reserve weeks to address unexpected situations.
What is the educational plan for the 2024-2025 school year regarding the learning time for students of different levels in Vietnam?
Based on Section 4 of the general education program issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the educational plan for the 2024-2025 school year regarding the learning time for students of different levels is as follows:

The actual learning time in one academic year is equivalent to 35 weeks. Educational institutions may organize teaching in either one session per day or two sessions per day.
Educational institutions that organize one session per day and two sessions per day must uniformly implement the compulsory education content for all educational institutions nationwide.
