Chó đốm con và mặt trời is one of the lessons that students will learn in the Grade 3 Vietnamese curriculum.

* Content of each section:
Section 1: The little spotted dog curiously observes the sun moving from east to west and makes his own assumptions. The image of the little spotted dog with big round eyes following the sun is very cute and creates closeness with young children.
Section 2: The little spotted dog continues to explore and proposes another theory about the sun. The image of the dog waiting for the sunrise by the riverbank shows his persistence and curiosity.
Section 3: The story ends unexpectedly and interestingly when the little spotted dog discovers the truth about the sun. The smiling sun image brings joy and excitement to the listeners.
* Understanding the story
Main character: The little spotted dog
Main event: The little spotted dog observes the sun and thinks about the sun's orbit.
Lesson: The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
* Storytelling instructions
- Start with a leading question: "Have you ever wondered about the sun? Why does the sun rise and set?"
- Introduce the character: "Today, I will tell you a story about a very curious little dog. He has cute white spots, so everyone calls him the little spotted dog."
- Describe the actions and thoughts of the little spotted dog: "One morning, the little spotted dog saw the sun rise from the eastern mountain. He was very surprised and asked himself: 'Why does the sun rise here?'"
- Use appropriate tone: When talking about the curiosity of the little spotted dog, the teacher can use a surprised tone. When narrating the dog waiting for the sunrise in the west, a suspenseful tone can be used.
- End the story with an open-ended question: "Why do you think the little spotted dog didn't see the sunset in the west?"

What are regulations on periodic assessment of primary school students' performance at the end of the year in Vietnam?
Regulations on periodic assessment of primary school students at the end of the year are stipulated in Article 7 of the Regulation on Assessment of Primary School Students, issued together with Circular 27/2020/TT-BGDDT:
- Periodic assessment of learning content of subjects and educational activities
+ At the end of the school year, the subject teachers base on the regular assessment process and required achievements, specific expressions of component competencies of each subject, educational activity to assess students for each subject, educational activity according to the following levels:
++ Good completion: fulfilling the learning requirements and frequently displaying specific expressions of the component competencies of the subject or educational activity;
++ Completion: fulfilling the learning requirements and displaying specific expressions of the component competencies of the subject or educational activity;
++ Not completed: not fulfilling some learning requirements or not displaying specific expressions of the component competencies of the subject or educational activity.
+ At the end of the school year, for the mandatory subjects: Vietnamese, Mathematics, Foreign Language 1, History and Geography, Science, Informatics and Technology, there are periodic tests;
+ Periodic test assignments suitable to the required achievements and specific expressions of the component competencies of the subject, including questions and exercises designed according to the following levels:
++ Level 1: Recognize, recall, or describe learned content and apply directly to solve some familiar situations and problems in learning;
++ Level 2: Connect, arrange some learned content to solve similar problems;
++ Level 3: Apply learned content to solve some new problems or give reasonable feedbacks in learning and life.
+ The test paper is corrected, commented on, scored on a scale of 10 by the teacher, no decimal scores, and returned to the student. The score of the periodic test is not used to compare this student with another.
If the end-of-year test result is abnormally different from the regular assessment, the teacher may propose to the school for the student to take another test to accurately assess the student's learning results.
- Periodic assessment of the formation and development of qualities and competencies
At the end of the school year, the homeroom teacher cooperates with the subject teachers, through comments, expressions in the process of regular assessment on the formation and development of the major qualities, core competencies of each student, assess according to the following levels:
+ Good: Well meets the educational requirements, clearly and frequently expressed.
+ Pass: Meets the educational requirements, expressed but not frequently.
+ Needs Improvement: Does not satisfactorily meet the educational requirements, unclearly expressed.
Are primary school students uniformly assessed according to Circular 27 in Vietnam?
Based on Article 2 Circular 27/2020/TT-BGDDT regulating the assessment of primary school students:
- From the 2020-2021 school year for Grade 1.
- From the 2021-2022 school year for Grade 2.
- From the 2022-2023 school year for Grade 3.
- From the 2023-2024 school year for Grade 4.
- From the 2024-2025 school year for Grade 5.
Thus, from the 2024-2025 school year, the assessment of primary school students will be uniformly implemented according to Circular 27.
