What are the standards for the principal of a general education institution of a public school in Vietnam?
Based on Chapter 2 of the Regulations on the standards for principals in general educational institutions issued with Circular 14/2018/TT-BGDDT, the standards for public school principals in general educational institutions include 05 standards:
1. Standard 1. Professional Ethics
Having exemplary professional ethics and innovative leadership in school management; possessing the capacity for personal professional development.

2. Standard 2. School Management

What are procedures for evaluating and classifying results according to public school principal standards in Vietnam?
According to Article 10 of the Regulations on the standards for principals in general educational institutions issued with Circular 14/2018/TT-BGDDT on the evaluation and classification process for public school principals:
1. Evaluation Process
- The principal self-evaluates according to the principal standards;
- The school organizes the collection of opinions from teachers and staff about the principal according to the principal standards;
- The direct management authority conducts the evaluation and announces the evaluation results of the principal based on the self-evaluation results, the teachers' and staff's opinions, and practical performance verified with suitable evidence.
2. Classification of Evaluation Results
- Meeting the principal standards at a good level: all criteria must be at least good, with a minimum of 2/3 criteria being rated as good, including criteria 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, and 14.
- Meeting the principal standards at a fairly good level: all criteria must be at least average, with a minimum of 2/3 criteria being rated as fairly good, including criteria 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, and 14.
- Meeting the principal standards: at least 2/3 criteria must be rated as average, including criteria 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, and 14.
- Not meeting the principal standards: more than 1/3 criteria rated as below average or at least one among criteria 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, and 14 rated as below average (criteria rated as below average when not meeting the requirements of the average level).
