Guidance on Online Registration for Monthly Bus Tickets for New Students in Vietnam
Methods to register for online monthly bus tickets for new students:
Method 1: Access the website http://timbus.vn => Select Monthly Ticket Service => Register for a monthly bus ticket
Method 2: Download the Find Bus application to your phone => Register and select the Monthly Ticket section

Guide to register for a monthly bus ticket:
Step 1: Fill in your information
Target audience: Tick the “Ưu tiên” (Priority) box
Priority: Select Student
Full Name: Enter the full name of the card registrant in Vietnamese with accents.
Date of Birth: Enter the accurate date of birth of the cardholder.
Phone Number: Enter the accurate phone number.
School: Type 2 characters to select from the available schools. If your school is not listed, you can manually enter it.
Academic Year: Select the year the course will end. For students, this is the year they will graduate.
Card Photo: Take a 2x3 cm portrait photo. Acceptable is a properly-captured photo: face looking straight, clear, sharp, with a single-colored background.
Photo taken within the last 6 months; after uploading, you can use the photo editing feature (See guide) to make adjustments as per the ticket center's requirements.
Student Card Front Photo: Take a photo of the front of the student card. Only upload photos in gif, png, or jpeg formats. Use the photo editor to ensure the photo is frontal, clear, and complete with all information.
Student Card Back Photo: Take a photo of the back of the student card. Only upload photos in gif, png, or jpeg formats. Use the photo editor to ensure the photo is frontal, clear, and complete with all information.
Registration Form Photo: The registration form photo must have the red stamp of the school. Only upload photos in gif, png, or jpeg formats. Use the photo editor to ensure the photo is frontal, clear, and complete with all information.
Step 2: Select the type of card
Select the type of card suitable for your commuting needs.
Inter-route: Allows the use of the card on all city-subsidized bus routes.
Single route: The card can only be used on one registered bus route. You must enter an available route from the list.
Step 3: Register information to receive the card
Card pickup location: You can choose to receive it at home or not.
Card receipt date: The system defaults to 3 days from the registration date, excluding Sundays and holidays. You can change the receipt date but it must not be earlier than the system's default date.
Step 4: Verify information and pay
Step 5: Complete the registration
Tick the box “I am not a robot”
Click the “Register” button to submit your online monthly bus ticket registration to Transerco.
You will receive a successful registration notification with the receipt date. At this point, the application status will be “Pending Review”, you can change or cancel the application.
If you do not receive a successful registration notification after clicking Register, please check the information you have filled and correct it, then click Register again.

Are new university students in Vietnam eligible for fee reduction when taking the bus?
According to Clause 4, Article 5 of the Regulation on student affairs for undergraduate programs issued together with Circular 10/2016/TT-BGDDT:

Enjoy policies, receive scholarships encouraging study, and scholarships from domestic and international organizations and individuals in accordance with current regulations; Fee reduction when using public services related to transportation, entertainment, museum visits, historical relics, and cultural works according to state regulations.

What are other rights of new students when studying in full-time undergraduate programs in Vietnam?
According to Article 5 of the Regulation on student affairs for undergraduate programs issued together with Circular 10/2016/TT-BGDDT, besides fee reduction for bus transportation (public transportation), new university students also have the following rights:
- Be admitted to the correct major or field they registered for admission if they meet the admission criteria as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and the university.
- Be respected and treated equally; be provided full personal information regarding study and training according to university regulations; be informed of the rules, regulations on training, and state policies related to students.
- Be facilitated in studying, conducting scientific research, and training.
- Enjoy policies, receive scholarships encouraging study, and scholarships from domestic and international organizations and individuals in accordance with current regulations; fee reduction when using public services for entertainment, museum visits, historical relics, and cultural works according to state regulations.
- Provide feedback, participate in management and supervision of educational activities and conditions ensuring the quality of education; directly or through their legal representatives, propose solutions to contribute to the construction and development of the university; express their wishes and file complaints to the university head regarding issues related to their legitimate rights and interests.
- Be considered for acceptance into dormitories and given priority when arranging accommodation in dormitories as prescribed.
- Students who meet the graduation requirements will be awarded a diploma, certificate, transcript of study and training, relevant documents, and resolved other administrative procedures.
