On November 10, 2022, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Document 5943/BGDDT-GDTrH of 2022 on agreement on the content of the Violympic scheme for upper secondary school students.

The Violympic exam for the school year 2024 - 2025 will officially start from September 1, 2024.
The Preliminary round will kick off with 6 challenges for subjects Mathematics, Mathematics in English, Vietnamese, and 3 challenges for subjects Natural Sciences, History, and Geography.

What are the rules for the Violympic exam for the school year 2024 2025 in Vietnam?
Based on the regulations of the Violympic program for the school year 2024 2025...Download, the rules for the Violympic exam 2024 2025 are as follows:
(1) Participants:
All upper secondary school students nationwide may register to participate according to the following subjects and grades:
- Mathematics: for students from grades 1 to 12.
- Mathematics in English: for students from grades 1 to 9.
- Vietnamese: for students from grades 1 to 5.
- Natural Sciences: for students from grades 6 to 9.
- History and Geography: for students in grades 4 and 5.
(2) Registration Process
- Students register for an account to participate in the playground on the website: https://violympic.vn/ according to the regulations of the organizing committee. Students register for their grade level and participate only at that grade level.
- To join the playground, students need to pay a maintenance fee for the account on the system. The specific fee will be announced by the organizing committee on the official website, effective from September 5, 2024, to April 30, 2025.
Accounts that have been paid from May 1, 2024, to September 4, 2024, will remain valid until the end of April 30, 2025.
- After having an account, students log in with the registered username and password and press the "Start" button to join the Playground.
(3) Play Rules
Students must consecutively overcome the challenges at 03 stages: Preliminary Round, Local Rounds, and National Round.
- Structure of the test and exam duration:
+ Each challenge will have 30 questions in the test.
+ The time allocated for each challenge is 30 minutes.
- Ranking criteria:
+ The score and time taken by students to overcome the challenges are two criteria for ranking them.
+ The ranking results of the students when participating in the challenges at the stages are considered independently.
+ The ranking board will be updated by the system after 24 hours.
- Preliminary Round:
+ Conditions for participation: all students who have registered for an account on the system can participate at any time after the opening of the exam round.
+ For subjects: Mathematics, Mathematics in English, Vietnamese, students must consecutively complete challenges from 01 to 06.
+ For subjects: Natural Sciences, History, and Geography, students must consecutively complete exam rounds from 01 to 03.
+ The minimum condition to pass each challenge is 200 points.
+ Students can retry multiple times; the challenge only ends when the student presses the “Submit result” button.
- Local Rounds include: School-level round, District-level round, Provincial/City-level round.
+ The student's exam time is counted from the moment the exam code is opened on the system.
+ The examination board will announce the exam code 10 minutes before the test session starts. After 10 minutes from the start of the test session, the system will automatically lock the exam code.
(4) Certificates and Awards
Local Rounds:
Educational units can actively develop plans for awarding and issuing certificates for students who win awards. The organizing committee has general award regulation as follows:
- School-level round and District-level round.
The organizing committee will issue an online certificate of completion for the School-level and District-level rounds for students who score at least 180 points.
- Provincial/City-level round.
The organizing committee will issue certificates for students completing the Provincial/City-level round meeting the following conditions:
+ Outstanding completion: Students score a minimum of 250 points.
+ Good completion: Students score from 200 points to 240 points.
+ Completion: Students score from 150 points to 190 points.
National Round.
- Medals and certificates.
- The organizing committee will only award and issue certificates to students who achieve a minimum of 200 points at the National Final according to each subject and grade level specified:
+ Gold Award: 2% of the total participating students simultaneously reaching at least 260 points.
+ Silver Award: 3% of the total participating students simultaneously reaching at least 240 points.
+ Bronze Award: 5% of the total participating students simultaneously reaching at least 220 points.
+ Encouragement Award: 15% of the total participating students simultaneously reaching at least 200 points.
- The organizing committee will issue online National-level certificates for students after the announcement of the winning students accompanied by the award recognition decision.
(5) Rewards.
The rewards for the top 20 students in each subject of each grade level are as follows:
- Top 1: Award worth VND 15,000,000;
- Top 2 – 3: Physical prizes worth VND 5,000,000;
- Top 4 – 10: Physical prizes worth VND 1,000,000;
- Top 11 – 20: Physical prizes worth VND 500,000.

- To enhance the application of information technology in learning at primary and secondary schools.
- To create a beneficial and healthy online playground for subjects Mathematics, Vietnamese, Mathematics in English, History, and Geography, Natural Sciences for upper secondary school students.
- To provide opportunities for students to use the Internet as a learning method. Students are allowed to practice and self-assess their learning abilities directly on a convenient and safe online platform.
- To create a friendly, healthy environment for students to actively interact and learn.
