Under Article 3 of the High School Graduation Exam Regulations issued with Circular 24/2024/TT-BGDDT (effective from February 8, 2025), the papers in the High School Graduation Exam 2025 are defined as follows:

Paers

The exam is organized in 03 sessions: 01 session for the Literature paper, 01 session for the Mathematics paper, and 01 session for the elective paper comprising 02 subjects chosen from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, Industrial-oriented Technology (abbreviated as Industrial Technology), Agriculture-oriented Technology (abbreviated as Agricultural Technology), Foreign Language (English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, and Korean).

At the same time, under Article 3 of Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT (amended by Clause 1, Article 1 of Circular 02/2024/TT-BGDDT), the papers are defined as follows:

The exam consists of 5 papers, including: 3 independent papers are Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language (English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese and Korean); 1 paper of natural science (a combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology); 1 paper of social science (a combination of History, Geography, and Civic Education) with respect to students of compulsory education program at high school level or the papers of History and Geography with respect to students of continuing education program at high school level.

Thus, once the new regulations on the High School Graduation Exam come into force from February 8, 2025, candidates taking the High School Graduation Exam from 2025 will have only 3 exam sessions, reduced by 1 session compared to previous years.

What is the composition of the Question Paper Setting Council of the High School Graduation Exam in Vietnam?

Under Clause 2, Article 9 of the High School Graduation Exam Regulations issued with Circular 24/2024/TT-BGDĐT (effective from February 8, 2025), the composition of the Question Paper Setting Council is stipulated as follows:

- The President of the Council is the leader of the Management Quality Control Department;

- Vice Presidents of the Council are Deputy Heads of the Management Quality Control Department, leaders of some related units under the Ministry of Education and Training, leaders of higher education institutions/Department of Education and Training;

- Members, secretaries, and personnel responsible for information technology - technical tasks are officials and public employees from units under the Ministry of Education and Training; among which, the standing member is an official from the Management Quality Control Department;

- Question paper setters and moderators are officials and public employees from the Education sector or research institutes; regular lecturers, and teachers currently working at educational institutions. Each exam paper/subject has a Question Paper Setting Team composed of a leader, paper setters and paper moderators;

- Police forces will be assigned by the Ministry of Public Security, cryptographic forces will be assigned by the Government Cipher Committee;

- Security guards, health workers, and service staff will be assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training;

- Special cases will be decided by the Minister of Education and Training.

What are the regulations on arranging exam rooms for students taking the High School Graduation Exam in Vietnam?

Under Clause 2, Article 22 of the High School Graduation Exam Regulations issued with Circular 24/2024/TT-BGDĐT (effective from February 8, 2025), students taking the High School Graduation Exam will be assigned rooms as follows:

- Candidates who have graduated from high school, candidates who have completed the general education/continuing education program but have not yet graduated in previous years, graduates from post-secondary schools participating in the exam, and continuing education candidates will be arranged to take the exam together with candidates who are 12th-grade students during the exam year (referred to as 12th-grade candidates) at certain testing locations decided by the Director of the Department of Education and Training; ensuring that there are at least 50% of 12th-grade candidates among the total number of candidates at the testing location (in special cases, approval from the Ministry of Education and Training is required); the list for room assignments is made according to the regulations in point a, clause 1, Article 22 of the High School Graduation Exam Regulations issued with Circular 24/2024/TT-BGDĐT;

- Exam rooms are assigned according to the elective test paper, each exam room has a maximum of 24 candidates and must ensure a minimum distance of 1.2 meters between two candidates sitting next to each other horizontally; the list for room assignments is made according to the regulations in point a, clause 1, Article 22 of the High School Graduation Exam Regulations issued with Circular 24/2024/TT-BGDĐT;

- The number of exam rooms for each Exam Council is numbered in ascending order;

- Each exam room has a Photo List of candidates in the exam room, arranged in order corresponding to the list of candidates in the exam room;

- In front of the exam room, the List of candidates in the exam room for each testing session and the responsibilities of candidates as specified in Article 21 of the High School Graduation Exam Regulations issued with Circular 24/2024/TT-BGDĐT must be posted.
