What is the formula for calculating the area of a quadrilateral?

The formula for calculating the area of a quadrilateral does not have a single universal formula like a triangle or a rectangle. This is because quadrilaterals can vary greatly (parallelogram, trapezoid, rhombus, square, rectangle, etc.), and each type has its own distinct characteristics.

The formula for calculating the area of a quadrilateral is taught from grade 5. Students can refer to it below:

What is the formula for calculating the area of a quadrilateral?

S = (AB x AH) / 2.

Divide the quadrilateral into simpler shapes:

Divide the quadrilateral into triangles: Divide the quadrilateral into smaller triangles, then calculate the area of each triangle and sum them up.

Divide the quadrilateral into a rectangle and triangles: If the quadrilateral has a special form, it can be divided into a rectangle and one or more triangles.

*Use the specific area formula for each type of quadrilateral:

Parallelogram: Area = base x height

Trapezoid: Area = (large base + small base) x height / 2

Rhombus: Area = (major diagonal x minor diagonal) / 2

Square: Area = side x side

Rectangle: Area = length x width

*Use Heron's formula:

Applies to any quadrilateral, but requires knowing the lengths of the sides and the two diagonals. This formula is more complex and is seldom employed.

Example:

Parallelogram ABCD: Area = AB x AH (with AH being the height dropped from A to side CD)

Trapezoid ABCD: Area = (AB + CD) x AH / 2 (with AH as the height)

*Note: The information on the formula for calculating the area of a quadrilateral only for reference purposes./.

What are the manners of primary school students in Vietnam during the learning process?

Under Article 37 of the Charter of Primary Schools issued together with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, the manners of primary school students in Vietnam are specified as follows:

- Manners and attire of students shall follow the regulations of the sector and the law, where attention should be paid to:

- Exhibit a serious, honest attitude in studying, testing, assessing, and participating in activities.

- Do not cause disorder affecting the activities of the class, school, and public places.

- Do not endanger oneself and others when participating in recreational activities.

Thus, the manners of primary school students in Vietnam during the learning process are serious, and honest in studying, testing, assessing, and participating in activities.

What are the assessment levels for primary school students in Vietnam?

According to Clause 2, Article 9 of Circular 27/2020/TT-BGDDT, regulations on the consolidation of academic assessment results are as follows:

Consolidation of academic assessment results

1. In the middle of the first semester, at the end of the first semester, in the middle of the second semester and at the end of a school year:

a) Subject teachers shall rely on periodic assessment and level of completion of periodic assessment of subjects and academic activities to consolidate and record academic assessment results in records for class academic assessment results.

b) Class mentors shall rely on regular assessment results and level of completion from periodic assessment regarding primary traits and capacities of students to consolidate and specify academic assessment results of students in records for class academic assessment results.

2. At the end of a school year, based on consolidated assessment results of each subjects, academic activities and primary traits, capacities, class mentors shall:

a) Assess academic results of students by 4 levels:

- Excellent completion: Students who achieve excellent scores in assessment results of subjects, academic activities; good in traits and capacities; at least 9 score in periodic final exams of subjects;

- Good completion: Students who fail to achieve excellent completion but achieve good scores in assessment results of subjects, academic activities; good in traits and capacities; at least 7 score in periodic final exams of subjects;

- Completion: Students who fail to achieve excellent and good completion but achieve good or completion scores in assessment results of subjects, academic activities; good or satisfied in traits and capacities; at least 5 score in periodic final exams of subjects;

- No completion: Other students.

b) Specify feedback, academic assessment results and achievements of students receiving appraisal in a school year in study records.

Thus, under the above regulations, the four assessment levels for primary school students include:

-Excellent completion

- Good completion

- Completion

- No completion

The assessment of primary school students is usually conducted in the middle of the first semester, at the end of the first semester, in the middle of the second semester and at the end of a school year.

Subject teachers shall rely on periodic assessment and level of completion of periodic assessment of subjects and academic activities to consolidate and record academic assessment results in records for class academic assessment results.
