What are the goals of preschool education in Vietnam?
Based on Section a Part 1 of the Preschool Education Program issued with Circular 17/2009/TT-BGDDT amended by Article 1 Circular 51/2020/TT-BGDDT, the goals of preschool education are as follows:
- Helping children to develop physically, emotionally, intellectually, and aesthetically, forming the first elements of their personality, preparing them for first grade;
- Forming and developing in children the fundamental psychological functions, capacities, and qualities, necessary life skills appropriate to their age, awakening and maximizing their potential abilities, laying the foundation for learning at subsequent levels and for lifelong learning.
What are requirements for the content of the preschool education program in Vietnam?
Based on Section C Part 1 of the Preschool Education Program issued with Circular 17/2009/TT-BGDDT amended by Article 1 Circular 51/2020/TT-BGDDT, the requirements for the content of the preschool education program include:
- Ensuring scientific accuracy, appropriateness, and gradual progression from easy to difficult; ensuring continuity between ages, between nursery, kindergarten and primary school; aligning educational content with real life, relevant to the experiences and lives of children, preparing them step by step to integrate into life.
- Appropriate to the psychological and physiological development of children, balancing nurturing, care, and education; helping children develop a well-balanced, healthy, and agile body; providing life skills appropriate to their age; helping children respect, love, and be polite to their grandparents, parents, teachers; loving brothers, sisters, friends; being honest, bold, confident, and innocent; loving beauty; eager to learn, and excited about going to school.
