Besides, the Minister of Ministry of Education and Training has also issued Decision 2045/QD-BGDDT in 2024 on the framework for the time schedule of the 2024-2025 school year for preschool education, general education, and continuing education.

When does the 2024-2025 school year in Vietnam end?

Based on Article 1 of Decision 2045/QD-BGDDT in 2024:

Issuing the framework for the time schedule of the 2024-2025 school year for preschool education, general education, and continuing education applicable nationwide as follows:

1. The earliest school opening is no more than a week before the date of the school year opening ceremony. For Grade 1, the earliest school opening is no more than two weeks before the date of the school year opening ceremony.

2. The school year opening ceremony is on September 5, 2024.

3. The first semester ends before January 18, 2025, completing the program and ending the school year before May 31, 2025.

4. The recognition of completion of primary school programs and graduation from secondary school takes place before June 30, 2025.

5. The admission to the first grades is completed before July 31, 2025.

6. The high school graduation exam of 2025 is expected to take place on June 26 and June 27, 2025.

7. Other national exams are organized according to the regulations and guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Thus, the 2024-2025 school year will end before May 31, 2025.

Additionally, after the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the following must be implemented:

- Recognizing the completion of primary school programs and graduation from secondary school before June 30, 2025.

- Completing admissions to first grades before July 31, 2025.

- The high school graduation exam of 2025 is expected to take place on June 26 and June 27, 2025.

What are regulations on the responsibilities for implementing the time framework for the 2024-2025 school year in Vietnam?

Based on Article 3 of Decision 2045/QD-BGDDT in 2024, the responsibilities for implementing the time framework for the 2024-2025 school year are as follows:

Responsibilities of the Chairperson of the Provincial People’s Committee:The Chairperson of the Provincial People’s Committee, the city under centrally-controlled administration shall decide:

- The time schedule for preschool education, general education, and continuing education suitable to the local practical conditions.

- The time for early school opening and the extension of the school year shall not exceed 15 days compared to the regulations to ensure the implementation and completion of preschool education, general education, and continuing education programs in case of natural disasters, epidemics; in exceptional cases, report to the Ministry of Education and Training before implementation.

Responsibilities of the Director of the Department of Education and Training:

- Decide on closed days for students in cases of severe weather, natural disasters, and arrange make-up classes; ensuring teachers' break time during the school year.

- Report to the Ministry of Education and Training on:

+ The preparation for the school year and the organization of the school year opening ceremony for the 2024-2025 school year before September 10, 2024;

+ Summarize the implementation of key tasks and solutions for the 2024-2025 school year and the results of achieving the competition criteria, propose commendations for the school year before June 25, 2025.
