What are the orientations in the teaching methods for 8th-grade Literature in Vietnam?

Under Section 6 of the Appendix of the General Education Program for Literature, issued together with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the following stipulations apply for 8th-grade Literature:

The General Education Program for Literature employs educational methods oriented towards integrated and differentiated teaching; diversifying organizational forms, methods, and teaching tools to stimulate students' active participation, initiative, and creativity in learning and applying knowledge and skills.

Based on the program, teachers proactively and flexibly construct and organize lessons according to the following orientations:

- Conducting intra-subject integration (both knowledge and skills), inter-subject integration, and integration of prioritized educational content (cross-disciplinary); ensuring differentiation according to student target groups at all levels and contributing to vocational orientation in the upper secondary level.

- Training students in methods of reading, writing, speaking, and listening; practicing and experiencing the reception and application of Vietnamese language and literature knowledge through various in-class and out-of-class activities; focusing on using teaching tools to overcome rote teaching, developing thinking and honing students' skills in using different tools.

- Enhancing and promoting students' active self-reliance; allocating substantial time for students to research textbooks and learning materials, practice, present, discuss, and defend learning outcomes so they can independently read, write, speak, and listen according to different requirements and levels; checking and evaluating students' performance in learning tasks.
